52% of Democratic voters in Florida SUPPORT so-called 'Don't Say Gay' bill

Teachers in Florida were never attempting to teach 5 yr olds about transgenderism. This is DeSantis making sure he locks up the fucked in the head bigoted homophobes in Florida of which there are a lot.
Then they should not brag on the internet about do just that type of thing.

How Anatta lies:

Completely misquoted it, deliberately I'd argue because Anatta lies on behalf of Russia:

:nonono: You found an obvious typo by the Daily Mail. It's contradicted TWICE on the portion I quoted for you.

More than 52% of Democratic voters in Florida SUPPORT so-called 'Don't Say Gay' bill that bans teaching of sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through third grade, new poll shows
The poll found that more than 52 percent of Democratic voters surveyed, roughly 365 people, oppose the Governor Ron DeSantis-championed policy
A further 12 percent remarked that they were unsure of their stance on the bill
Just 36 percent of those polled said they opposed the legislation, officially called the 'Parental Rights in Education Bill'

LMAO

This is why I always say Conservatives are functionally illiterate:

You say this:

More than 52% of Democratic voters in Florida SUPPORT so-called 'Don't Say Gay' bill

But then you say this:

The poll found that more than 52 percent of Democratic voters surveyed, roughly 365 people, oppose the Governor Ron DeSantis-championed policy

But then you say this:

Just 36 percent of those polled said they opposed the legislation

So that would include the 52% of Democrats who said they oppose the legislation.

Conservatives are illiterate.

The protests against a law that doesn't even mention the word gay are hilarious. Eleventy-two supposed adults all standing around chanting "gay"...

I don't understand what you find funny about protesting the erasure of someone's identity.

If there was a bill passed that prohibited the teaching of Conservatism because of how damaging it is to kids, you'd be the first person to scream about how it's erasure.

The law doesn't do that either. This law simply makes policy where inappropriate sexuality discussions with 5 year old children up to 3rd grade children are not allowed in a classroom allowing parents to have the discussions with their children over a government employee. Nobody's identity is erased, it is not illegal to say "gay" at any moment anywhere.

The protests are funny because they are absurd. The law doesn't do what they say it does so it is not against the law to chant "gay"... like they try to suggest. Folks are not "brave" for doing so, they just look silly.

Someone previously said in this thread "This law is going to blow up in their face"!

Well, that may be very true!

Florida holds the 4th largest population of Gay people out of all 50 states- and it has 886,000 gay people admitting to being openly gay

The demographics of sexual orientation are very difficult to track because there are no official ways to obtain this information. While surveys gather self-reported data, there are challenges to researchers in inquiring on such a sensitive subject. Also, different questions yield different results. For example, one set of questions may seek self-reported data on same-sex sexual experiences, while another set may seek data surrounding personal identification as lesbian, gay, or bisexual.

The UCLA Williams Institute analyzed surveys conducted by Gallup Polling from 2012 to 2017 and CDC data from 2015 and 2017 to gather estimates of the LGBT population in each state.

For most heterosexuals- they are neutral on the subject of Gayness and LGBTQ issues, and many feel uncomfortable to even be asked about LGBTQ issues, because for the most part, it doesn't apply to them or their families. Most people agree that all people should be treated equal- LGBTQ or not!

But for the 886,000 Gay people that live in Florida, the new law will more-than-likely alienate those voters from voting Republican in the Mid-terms!

Recent polls in Florida indicate that 57% of Floridians support Gay Marriage- Just sayin'!

So, I'm not sure how the Banning of Gay Marriage or the Banning of Using the word Gay in Florida is going to help win the Republicans votes in future elections- BUT IN NO WAY IS IT GOING TO GAIN THEM VOTES WITH THE VOCAL AND VOTING MAJORITY OF FLORIDIANS- Gay or otherwise.

So, I think the new law will hurt the Republicans in the Mid-terms!

The new banning law was always a law looking for a cause or reason in many peoples minds AND MANY DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS WILL LOOK AT THE LAW AS AN OVER-REACH BY THE REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR AND REPUBLICAN STATE LEGISLATURE!

How do you know it's a typo when you don't have access to the poll's actual crosstabs?
Because there are TWO contradictions on the same page. 1. the headline says 52% support the bill. 2. and it also says 36% oppose the bill. All three cannot be true therefore 52% opposing the bill is a typo. Give yourself an internet star for catching an obvious typo.

So you want parents to establish bias in their kids.

Cool.

Cool cool cool.

No, but it makes it illegal for a gay teacher to tell their students that they are married.

So that's identity erasure.

It would be like me saying I want to teach my kids about the evils of Conservatism before you had the chance to assign them The Fountainhead.

How do you know those two contradictions aren't the typos?

You don't even have access to the actual poll's crosstabs, those were left out of the article entirely.

Why were they left out, do you think?

Parents are the folks that teach values to children, not government. So yes, the parents get to teach values to their children, even if you disagree with them. Just like you get to teach values to your children that they may not agree with.

There are already laws and rulings against government employees indoctrinating your children into religious values (they cannot lead a prayer, for example) but those same laws allow the parents to lead prayers and teach their religious values. This law simply underlines that role. Government employees should not be allowed to indoctrinate children into your values. Even if you really really hate folks that disagree with you and super duper want to codify your beliefs as the official doctrine of the classroom.

Parents are the folks that teach values to children, not government

Oh, so every parent has a teaching degree?

What university or college issued those?

If you think parents should have a say in what their kids are taught, then you must agree that teachers should have a say in how those kids are raised.

So yes, the parents get to teach values to their children, even if you disagree with them. Just like you get to teach values to your children that they may not agree with.

I guess I missed the part where every parent was a certified teacher with a degree and experience.

Has it ever occurred to you that parents do not make good teachers, which is why kids learn things in school and not at home?

There are already laws and rulings against government employees indoctrinating your children into religious values

Except that is what this bill is because it is informed by a religious viewpoint that kids shouldn't learn about human sexuality.

There's only a religious viewpoint to that; there is no other legitimate viewpoint to argue against teaching kids about human sexuality.

It all boils down to it not being appropriate because it's being viewed through a religious prism that takes the inherent position that it's sacrilege to teach children about human sexuality bestowed by God.
