Will Smith slap: Workplace violence isn’t tolerated in normal industries

Agreed 100%.

That said, this isn't over yet. Like Jussie Smollett and the Insurrection, eventually justice comes due.

What do you think should be the penalty for a man slapping another man for no legitimate reason? Although shocked, Rock continued the show without harm except for the pain of the slap and the indignity of it.

Had that happened to you, what would you do or expect to be done for this injustice, volsrock?

IMO, like being asked to legally define a woman, I expect minor assualt charges with a plea of guilty and sentence of community service, which could include cash donations to accepted charities...with a tax write-off.

I agree Rock stood like a man and handled it with grace

He’s a comedian

He made a joke

It was no big deal

Will fucked up

The fact that Will Smith wasn’t kicked out of the Oscars and arrested for assaulting Chris Rock shows how Hollywood allows, enables, and celebrates the very worst behaviors.

Workplace violence isn’t tolerated in normal industries.

I could not care much less that one multi-millionaire slapped another multi-millionaire on stage at some, fucking awards show (that I do not much care about either).

So fucking what?

Here’s my take folks

The man who was slapped did not press charges

They have a relationship

It’s seems Mr Rock did not feel charges were needed

It was an incident the harmed man felt didn’t needed police intervention

Mr Rock owns those rights and NO ONE else does

Punishment Galore is coming to the perpetrator of the violence in mountainous levels

Some men look at the hurt in their loved ones eyes and feel the need to avenge

He should not have acted on that perceived need

I have to confess that I wondered what this world we be like now if Ted Cruise had stood up and walked over to Trump and slapped the shit out of Trump after seeing the hurt in his wife’s eyes after trump insulted her

Can you say president Cruze?

But then the asshole trump would have immediately had him arrested and sued him for the next decade

Some men do stupid things for love

Some men do stupid things for money and power

Guess which ones women love more

And forgive stupid actions for

The right would have praised Cruze

He never would

He’s a chicken shit
Actually, I'd pay good money to see a "Two men enter, one man leaves" between those two.

Personally, my money would be on Lemon.

Interesting to see the far Left condone violent lawbreakers when it suits them. Do you believe you are hypocritical in condoning violence by the far Right, Darla, while supporting it on the far Left?

Disagreed on Rock's reaction. I felt he conducted himself exactly like a man should; he took a cheapshot, kept his compose and did his fucking job....thus giving him time to reason through it. Had Smith continued to attack, that alters the equation. An intelligent man knows his options. Acting like an oaf is not a good option.

Tell me, Darla, what would you have gushed over to have seen last night? Two black men brawling onstage while all those Hollywood pussies did nothing? See Rock whip out his Glock and blow Smith's head off in front of the world, thus causing volsrock to cum in his pants?

I'm truly curious why you believe Will is right and Chris is wrong. TIA

I absolutely do not condone what Smith did. It is however up to Rock have him charged. For his own reasons so far he has not. I abhor violence. It is a one-on-one version of war that has 2 losers. There is nothing manly is what Smith did. It was childish and immature. It also was dangerous.

The slap seen round the world

I wish Cruze would have slapped Donnies face

We would have never had trump as president

The right would have praised Cruze

I'm not so sure Cruz is very high on the list inside the RNC. As Trump's star fades, so fades those of Trump's coconspirators, fellow traitors, and general cocksuckers sycophants.

Agreed

Just like praising teenagers for killing protesters with illegal weapons

Oh he will never be president

If he had slapped the shit out Donnie he might have been

Instead he was licking trump ass in no time

I admire his ability as an actor. Just about every movie I've seen him in, I've enjoyed.

Thats fair, just like I admire my plumbers ability to fix my toilet. But if he slaps a friend over the weekend, I have no concern about it.

There can be so many different, yet partially correct takes on this. I will just express one of the things which crossed my mind.

Rock is an abusive pussy who's made a career out of misogyny. And he acted like a pussy last night when confronted by a man. He was so shocked. Shocked because a man stood up to him. He reminds me of the right wingers here, big mouths who love to demean women, but you can bet they sit quietly in real life when there's a man around who might be in the position to retaliate. Chris Rock never thought Will Smith would be in the position to retaliate because he was on camera. So it's no surprise to me that right wing men think Chris Rock is the aggrieved party.

Don't forget, if you insult Ted Cruz's wife he will retaliate by licking your ass in public. Is that a man? Out of Will Smith, Chris Rock, and Ted Cruz I see one man (however flawed) in the mix.

I could go into how this entire mess hurt the Williams' sisters. I could get into toxic masculinity, but that would be a nuanced conversation and lord knows this ain't the place for that. So I guess you could call this my hot take.

Just be certain that I know all of the abusive men on this forum, and they are all righties, don't mouth off in real life. They punch down. Pussies. Fact.
I haven’t been a follower of Chris Rock, I’ve seen him in a few movies and saw a clip of his $5,000 bullets skit, which I thought was hilarious, but I’ve never seen a full show of his and wasn’t aware of his misogyny, so I looked it up and yikes, it’s not a good look to joke about rape. Thanks for the education.

Blacks don't handle disrespect well....a black in the hood would have done a drive by shooting on the house..killing whoever was in the way

Which is the point of being "edgy"; speaking about the verboten. All following in the footsteps of Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor.

Regardless, are we discussing whether it's sometimes okay to violently attack someone for words or not? Just looking for clarity in the rules. :)
