At the very least the Polish MIGs could be cannibalized for spare parts. Having an additional 50% more planes isn't a bad thing even if they are older. The weapons they carry can still shoot down Russian bombers. Zelenskyy wants them and I think he is better position to know what he needs to protect his people than Biden.

Drones took out a few planes during the Nagorno-Karabakh War, which is part of the reason Putin has been afraid to put his air force into Ukraine. He has failed to take the air space over Ukraine, which is slowing, and even halting his invasion.
That is completely reversed. Drones do not have pilots, so can go much faster. They do not need to worry about G forces on the pilot. They are expendable, so can carry a much larger payload.
Many of the drones being deployed are slower and smaller, but that is a strategic decision. Slower, smaller drones do better. Slower means they can hover over a position for a long time. Smaller makes them easier to transport, and if you can target more accurately, the same amount of useful damage, with less collateral damage. If you get a swarm of smaller drones, it becomes a cluster bomb, which is far bigger than the biggest bomb.
Hawkeye is hoping that the West will fail, and be replaced by fascism. I think he will be disappointed.
