gas prices explode overnight - $4.19/gallon

You can get that through comparative observation of the numerous news services available in print or broadcasted through TV or radio. Just thought I'd save you the effort. Keep in mind how SPECULATION affects all of this. I just remember going through similar crap in the 1970's (don't be fuel-ish commercial) with oil shortages and "gluts". Remember, we were supposed to have reached "peak oil" production a few years back. So much for that.

Its not about me, it is about JPP quality, it is about conversations.

Well, just reporting price ranges at various pumps doesn't really get into WHY this is happening, or WHY there are different price ranges in the very same town/city sometimes. Which is why one must keep in mind what I stated above when doing so. But every bit helps. Good luck.

Sounds like you're triggered. All I did was groan you, and you went right to the hyperbolic "TDS." (and predictable)

The party out of power always loses seats. Will it be a shellacking? I'd find that unlikely - too many seats are protected now. And Biden's #'s are going up - if the Ukraine crisis ends and the sanctions have anything to do w/ it, they'll go up even more.

Republicans may be disappointed. But you never know.

The ONLY reason Biden's numbers are going up is the Ukraine War.
POTUS"s numbers almost always rise during international crisis.
Especially when they begin.

The economy is a mess right now.
Inflation at 40+ year highs,
the NASDAQ is down since Biden took office,
the Atlanta Fed is calling for practically ZERO GDP growth in Q1,
The Federal Fed cannot shoot too many bullets at inflation for fear of crashing the debt-fueled economy.

And before you say the jobs numbers in February were great.
No they were not.
Almost ALL of those new jobs went to people without even a HS diploma.
In other words - mostly low paying, shit jobs.

And the U-6 went up.
https://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t15.htm

No wonder Biden is desperately trying to get everyone focused on Ukraine.
Because the economy is falling apart right now.

One again - I DESPISE both parties.
And 99.9999% of ALL politicians are not worth dog shit.

True enough, but it's all relative because the folk just making ends meet in America go by their paychecks and not what goes on around the world. So yeah, American's bitching about gas prices is legit. And EVERYONE can point the finger of blame at SPECULATION, not actual supply and demand.

Actually, your younger generation act as through gas shortages of 2022 is the first time America, in particular, has ever encountered gas price issues, and to which these gas guzzler vehicles were not part of society decades ago either:

Gas Shortages in 1970s America Sparked Mayhem and Forever Changed the Nation

Half a century ago, a series of oil crises caused widespread panic and led to profound shifts in U.S. culture

The oil crisis affected everything from home heating to business costs. But the impact was most obvious on the roads. David Falconer / U.S. National Archives
When a ransomware attack forced the Colonial Pipeline system to shut down its network last Friday, panic ensued at gas pumps across the southeastern United States. Anticipating a shortage, drivers lined up to top off their tanks and fill gas canisters to be tucked away in storage. On Wednesday, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission tweeted the alarming message “Do not fill plastic bags with gasoline.”

The events of the past week echo crises that swept the country in the 1970s, when gas shortages led to demand spikes that only exacerbated the situation."

Dec. 1, 1942: Mandatory Gas Rationing, Lots of Whining
FDR imposes nationwide gasoline rationing in order to stop Americans from indulging in nonessential driving during wartime. The point is not to save fuel but to conserve rubber, a desperately needed commodity in short supply.

Ahh, but that was all BS too, because the "oil shortage" (the infamous "don't be fuel-ish" commercial with Ed Asner comes to mind) was suddenly followed by a "oil glut" in less than a decade. OPEC doing a dance, with Shell, Texaco and others following suit. Getting rid of gas guzzling, emission inefficient cars was a good thing, but that was NOT the crux of the problem:
