As to your claim that no one would obey the 45 - that would depend on the penalty. If caught doing 60 in a 45 resulted in license suspension of a few months, compliance would be very good. Speeding is not a crime of passion or necessity. People do it because they like to and the penalties are so light. If bank robbery was punished by a $200 fine, everybody would do that. THINK, you demented degenerate despicable deranged tranny.

Actually i would like to see gas at say $10 a gallon. I truly think it would do more good than harm. People would drive much slower and much less and highway crashes would drop by say 70%. They would drop in cities too even though speed limits there are already under 45. But again fewer people would be driving in the cities.

These gas prices are predicted to go much higher. With the out of sight inflation of everything involved in transporting products to our grocery stores and other stores and businesses, the Democrats will have a hard time explaining why they are harming Americans.

Back in 1974 we lowered speed limits to 55 nationally to save gas and it also caused highway fatalities to immediately drop by 9,000 a year. It's a great idea but the auto industry opposes it and they pay the media to brainwash the moron american into thinking he a has the "right" to drive 80 mph. Car crashes mean car sales.
