Biden 'personally killed Polish jet deal'

Wrong.
Turkey did not give them to Ukraine.
They sold Baykar Bayraktar TB2 drones to them starting in 2019.

Correct the gave them custody of the drones after Ukraine paid for them much like the US would back fill the void left after Poland gave the MIG 29 s to UKRAINE . No where in the OP article does it say the US taxpayer would be paying for those F16s. To think that the US would at for new F 16 to replace old MIGs that cost 8 million originally is comical

Custody?
Turkey delivered the drones before the war after Poland paid for them.
It was a simple transaction.
Not a gift.

As for the Mig-29's?
Why the heck would America brag about offering Poland F-16's to replace the Mig-29's...if America was forcing Poland to pay full price for them?
What the hell kind of favor to the Poles would that be?

Obviously, you have no link to ANY source that states that America was going to force Poland to buy the F-16's.
You just assumed that was the case.

You want to believe something that makes no sense.
Go right ahead.

When Poland was already buying F-35's and had no need for the F-16's?
That's ridiculous.

There has been great confusion on whether Poland was wanting new planes or old ones that the Air Force is retiring soon. I dont know the answer.

Poland is already buying F-35's from America.

I see no reason why they would want far inferior F-16's as well.
Especially if they had to pay full price for them.

This was simple - from what I read.
Poland offered Ukraine a bunch of REALLY old Mig-29's that were semi-useless to them.
And America was going to offer Poland some dumbed-down F-16's - for free - in return.

But the deal got too complicated, so it was axed.

They are only buying 32 F-35, they are not to begin service till 2028, and there are increasingly concerns that the plane will never work effectively (like our new aircraft carrier)...getting the proven F-16 and fast might be a better plan.

What would you do if you were Biden?

I would green light the fighter deal, I thought that was pretty clear. That way Ukraine is still defending Ukraine and we show Russia and the world that Russia doesn't control our foreign policy through suicidal threats. China is taking notes. Now they know that when they invade Taiwan they just say they have nukes and Brandon will freeze.

Well, I meant besides the fighter deal.

Giving 20+ worn out and outdated Mig-29A's while Russia rules the skies over Ukraine is not going to change much for long.
You REALLY think the Poles would be offering them if they had any significant, military value?

Besides, my understanding is the 'WW3 fear' is bullshit.
Just posturing for the ignorant masses/MSM.
No one is going to use nukes over Ukraine or Taiwan.
MAD works.

The real reason the US nixxed the deal (apparently) was because the Pentagon did not want to give Poland very capable F-16's in return for semi-useless, old Mig-29A's.
And this might cause the Poles to nix their F-35 deal.

But they already have F-16's that can protect their skies.

And almost no politician buys military equipment because it is good, IMO.
They buy it for votes.
And the Polish leader looks 'cooler' if he buys 'state-of-the-art' F-35's rather than 'same old, same old' F-16's.

And btw, the F-35 works fine (apparently).
All new weapons systems have teething troubles.
The problem with it is it's (apparently) not remotely as stealthy as advertised.

And is thus, WAY too expensive for what it offers.

Other than the F-35B - I think the plane was a colossal mistake.
The Pentagon should have bought an F-22B bomber variant for the Air Force.
And developed the F-22N for carrier work.

Biden is not a blustering bigmouth like Trump. He does not want WW3. He has to be very careful. It seems Putin is pushing and pushing. Putin acts like he wants a bigger war. Biden is an adult and does not care if rightys call him chicken. This is a very delicate position he is in. Trump could not have handled it.

What I think is that announcing you won't do it because Putin threatens folks is teaching every nation in the world that all you need to stop the US from doing what is right is to have and threaten the use of nukes.

Biden does not have spine. He should handle Putin like Corn Pop.

That the Pentagon has begun hiding information about the F-35 is not a good look....it indicates a lack of confidence that they will ever get it to work:

Drones are the way to go right now. They're having a lot of success.

When you start patrolling the air, you get into the issue of Russian based anti aircraft weapons.

So you either start taking out these weapons on Russian soil and push a deranged fool into a full scale war, or you wait for Russians to take him out.

Meanwhile, Ukraine is having a lot of success with the armed drones, and need about 100 more.

It is interesting to see the Communists on this board cheer for Putin.

That was my thought. After Ukraine, Putin wouldn't stop. I think the plan is to have Putin taken out and work toward mending the world.

That's going to take a lot more time, and a lot of lives lost.

Do you believe we should be attacking key locations in Russia right now?
