Zelensky says he has 'cooled' on joining NATO and is open to discussions

serious head case.
Im talking about avoiding war by negotiations
you seriously need to keep your head in a beehive permanently

Me too. If you weren't one of Putin's buttboys, you'd know that this is all on Putin.

A+ post. Would read again.

What will you do when Vlad is out, Dookie? If you're in Russia, you probably won't survive. If in the US, just a blanket party and a free flight off a balcony??? LOL

you cant keep 2 thoought in your heads at one time
~~

The INVASION is "all on Putin"
the PREDICATE (Zelensky is offering) were the exact same conditions Putin sent to Biden in his letters

Why does Zelensky want now what could have been negotiated before?
Because Biden rejected negotiations w/Putin out of hand

Then why your repeated diatribes against the US and NATO, Dookie?

Just waiting for the Ukrainians to hit them hard the closer they come. Anyone who knows history will remind the Russians of the layered trap they gave the
Germans at Kursk and how badly it went for them. Roll on Russian army to Kiev, you will meet your Kursk, and Odessa will be your Stalingrad.

Kursk?
No offense, but the Battle of Kursk was NOTHING like Kiev today.
Kursk was an open country, GIGANTIC, armored clash (some say the largest in history).
Kiev will be street-to-street, city fighting.

Also, by mid 1943 (when Kursk took place), the USSR was stronger than Nazi Germany and FAR outproducing them.
And, at Kursk, the Soviets greatly outnumbered the Germans in every area.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Kursk

There is little chance that Ukraine will outnumber the Russians at Kiev.
Unless the Russians throw a puny amount of troops at it.

If you have to use a Soviet-Nazi war example?
I would say the battle for Stalingrad would be a better example.

Then why your repeated diatribes against the US and NATO, Dookie?
I see you cant debate the fact this war might have been avoided
You arent the only one -not 1 word about Zelensky's offer in MS press

NATO expansion -is not a "diatribe against NATO" it's about putting Putin in a box
after we said we wouldn 't

https://www.businessinsider.com/ukraines-zelensky-says-he-has-cooled-on-joining-nato-2022-3

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had "cooled down" about Ukraine's bid to join NATO.
He said his mindset changed "after we understood that NATO is not prepared to accept Ukraine."
Zelensky added: "The alliance is afraid of controversial things and confrontation with Russia."

All most people and the MSM seem to think about Ukraine is it is some lovely ex-Soviet territory that had Russia brutally take Crimea and the Donbas from it. And now Putin wants to take the entire country...for NO other reason than ego or empire building.
They know little to nothing of the background or the history.

The bottom line is - NATO threatening to make Ukraine part of it (which is a HUGE deal to Russia).
Along with Kiev killing thousands in the Donbass over the last 7+ years.

The Russians have officially stated that ALL they require for peace is Ukraine promising to NEVER join NATO.
And for Kiev to recognize Crimea as part of Russia (which it is - their people voted over 90% to join Russia in 2014).
And for them to recognize the Donbass regions (Luhansk and Donetsk) as autonomous countries.

NOW - I am 100% AGAINST Putin attacking Ukraine proper.
But I would have had NO problem if he had confined his attacks/invasion to the Donbass region.

those were the conditions outlined by Lavrov in the letter(s) to Biden pre-war.

we cant say for sure if negotiations would have stopped the war,but we can say for sure lack of negotiations left no other path then to war

If this fucking IDIOT had made the same correct decision even a few weeks ago then he could have avoided all of this.

he stupidly thought NATO had his back.

the guy is a comedian for shits sake, cant expect him to grasp geopolitics.

What's to debate? Putin is a murdering asshole and a dictator. Either the Russians take charge of their own country or the world risks thermonuclear warfare.

If you didn't have your head buried so far up Putin's ass, you'd realize his days are numbered. The lives of 144 Million Russians depend upon it.

That is Kaliningrad, it should have been handed back many years ago but the Russians won't give it up. They have a naval base there, that wheezy old aircraft carrier the Admiral Kuznetsov sailed to Syria from there.

Thanks. (sigh) I can see Dukkha handing that to the Europeans as well.

:attaboy:

maybe. but is it worth a war to prove your contentions?
This might have been avoided if we took Russia at it's word .
We didn't and now Zelensky has an invasion on his hands..for what? to prove some point??

To put/force/drive ... Ukraine into the Arms of Europe ... FOREVER!

It is remarkable that you consider this evidence of Zelensky caving.

He also said Putin would have to return the stolen territories of Crimea and Donbass, and Russia would have to offer security guarantees to never intervene militarily in Ukraine ever again.

If Putin takes that deal, it is a massively huge win for Zalensky.
