Zelensky says he has 'cooled' on joining NATO and is open to discussions

We could have stopped this war if we weren't hell bent on NATO expansion,
and simply addressed it in negotiations

In 2008, Ukraine applied to begin a NATO Membership Action Plan, and the alliance welcomed Ukraine's bid, pledging that the country would eventually become a member, while declining to offer a timeline.

In addition to his NATO comments, Zelensky said on Tuesday that he was open to discussions about the control of Russian-backed separatist regions in eastern Ukraine, which could be an opening for peace talks with Russia.

"It is important to me how people who want to be part of Ukraine will live there. I am interested in the opinion of those who see themselves as citizens of the Russian Federation. However, we must discuss this issue," Zelensky said.
 
Before Putin launched Russia's war on Ukraine, he signed a decree recognizing the separatist regions
of Donetsk and Luhansk in the Donbas, an eastern region in Ukraine, as independent states.

Putin demanded guarantees that Ukraine would not join NATO in the run-up to his invasion,
a demand the alliance's leaders repeatedly rejected.

Well. Let's see how the chips landed.

1. Ukraine now Hates Russia, even though they are Historical Brothers.
2. Russia (at some point) will leave Ukraine and WON'T be doing ANY rebuilding.
3. Ukraine now looks to Europe ... for EVERYTHING.
4. The West has already told Ukraine they have a Marshall Plan for the Reconstruction.

Kyiv factions (Color elections) are always anti-Russia. that was one of the problems, but
NATO promise of expansion as well as uber-militarization got us this war -by empowering that hate

we wouldn't need a Marshal plan or had the destruction if we had negotiated NATO status -
which Biden absolutely refused to do

I would love to think Biden and some Military geniuses came up with this scheme to dislodge Ukraine from the Eternal Grip of Slavic Brotherhood. But sadly, I have to credit Putin for being:

That is Kaliningrad, it should have been handed back many years ago but the Russians won't give it up. They have a naval base there, that wheezy old aircraft carrier the Admiral Kuznetsov sailed to Syria from there.

This might have been avoided if we took Russia at it's word .
We didn't and now Zelensky has an invasion on his hands..for what? to prove some point??
