Protests erupt in Russian cities

My son met a Russian (Dmitri) in Europe when he was hitch-hiking around, they stay in contact on the internet. My son contacted him and asked if he was OK. He said "No one in Russia wants this war".
Hopefully 'Foreign Volunteers' are giving Ukraine (Kyiv) everything they need to bog down the Russian Invasion.

Moon, Duhka, and a few alt rightys on this board are the only ones I know of who are excited about this war and a presumed quick Russian victory.

As for actual Russian citizens, I have not corresponded with or run across a single one on my social media who approve of this war. Most are openly hostile towards Vlad's War.

Anatta/Dukkha have ALWAYS supported Putin and in my opinion are paid agents of Russia.
Moon, for some reason, is supporting 'annexation'.
Earl, a Partisan Hack, is rooting for Russia because it will make Biden look bad if Russia wins.
Legion, another Partisan Hack, is doing the same thing. Legion will accept Putin Nuking America if it makes*Biden look bad.

Russia is in the TrickBag. Even Fox News is supporting America over Putin.

Biden is having a state of the union speech Tuesday. The Trumpys can save time and tell us how bad it will be now
Do we remember those yearly presidential speeches? Trump had one the 1st year and ended them, like the Press Dinners. Trump did not allow any criticism of his genius policies. He scrapped the daily pressers too. The Trumpys did not care. If a Dem did that, they would have declared it treasonous and hiding what he is doing from the people. Trump does it, it is genius.
 
Update from Moscow - from a close friend

I have a friend who is from Crimea originally. She and her family survived 2014 but their business was ruined. She has lived in various places since then, mostly Odessa and Kiev but still owns some property in Kerch. I convinced her to get out of Ukraine several weeks ago and she packed up and moved to Moscow and is staying with a friend. She holds both Ukrainian and Russian passports. The climate in Moscow went from normal to total panic in three days.

As of an hour ago, there are busloads of SWAT police everywhere in Moscow. She said that if you try to go to McDonalds, you will get arrested. All the rails lines have stopped. All flights have stopped. ATMs are offline. Everyone is afraid of what happens next. The public mood has swung wildly in three days. Fear and panic reign.

On a personal note, I'm helping her navigate to Helsinki via car right now. She doesn't know what to do next. She has been thinking about Spain and applying for asylum there but has never been. If anyone has advice on prudent next steps, we would both appreciate it.

Even in a military dictatorship like Russia, maintaining martial law at home while fighting a war**. I think Putin will see increasing resistance at home and end up with his own Tiananmen Square. Let's see him try to keep that quiet in the Digital Age.

10,000 Internet Points says Putin doesn't last out the year. This cannot continue because Putin is driving his own people to go against him.
