Protests erupt in Russian cities

Putin likely will have to end this quickly. The longer it takes and the more the Russian people suffer, the more trouble Putin will be in. I have read that he thought the Ukrain takeover would be a 3-day job. An army fighting for reasons it cannot understand does not fight as fiercely as one protecting their homeland and families. The Ukraines have nowhere to go. They can go underground and emerge to fight more.,but they likely will continue the battle as long as they can.
You would think Putin would have learned a lesson in Afghanistan or saw our problems there and the other places we attacked.

...and he can't. He'll try to do something stupid and be capped in the head for it.

Consider this scenario: You are an elite member of the Praetorian Guard. Your leader makes all sorts of decisions, some good, some bad, and it is your duty to protect him from harm by others. You are the only armed person in the room. The Leader gives an order that is suicidal, everyone you know will die because of it. If the order is not carried out, there will be deaths, but eventual peace.

What do you do?

Consider it an ethics question or morals. All large organizations have tests, questions, etc along these lines. Some less discriminating than others. Some prefer one particular answer over the others. LOL

Legion. Poor, poor, Legion. Picked the Wrong Team THIS time!

So has Putin surrendered is he still in charge of Russia or maybe you are counting you chicks before the eggs hatch. Personally I hope Putin fails but I think we are a ways from that yet.

NPR is reporting that over 5,000 Russians were arrested last weekend for protesting the war.

Is what I heard true about punishing protestors by making them fight in the war? That would be a stupid move. Good chance you're sabotaging yourself making war protestors fight. Kind of like forcing someone from Peta to make taxidermy. Chances are they're going to fudge something up.

Token at best.
Clearly, the MSM is emphasizing the people protesting and trying to build it up.
Whilst completely ignoring what Russians (apparently) ACTUALLY think.

'This is difficult for people in the West to understand.

Here, we see the invasion of Ukraine as a war of choice.

In Russia, the average citizen sees the conflict as a war of necessity – one forced onto Russia by NATO and Ukraine.

This was confirmed before the war in research by the Levada Center, a non-governmental polling firm widely trusted in the West.

More than 66% of Russians blamed the conflict on America, NATO, or Ukraine.

Only 4% said the conflict was Russia's fault.'

Typical MSM - report what people want to hear OR what the MSM wants people to see.
Ignore the truth/facts/data if it goes against the main narrative.
Just like they did during Covid-19 lockdowns.
Pathetic.

For the record - I am 100% against Russia invading Ukraine proper.
But I am also - like Dr. Ron Paul - 100% against getting involved except with helping the victims of the war.
But NOT in ANY way getting involved.
It's NONE of our business.
And most of you - like usual - have not a clue of what really is and has gone on over their for a LONG time.

You write like a KGB troll.

Your link is not credible.

All it has is a screen grab of a Twitter post showing a graph with no link to the actual poll or any verifiable context for the nature and scope of the polling project.

Russia does not have a free media, so many citizens there do not have correct information about what is going on.

Even more telling, there is not now, and there never was, pro-war demonstrators out in public. The only people out in the public commons are those protesting against the war, and at great risk to their personal safety and freedom.

Clearly, the MSM is emphasizing....

First, anyone who seriously uses the term "MSM" is an idiot.

Second, it doesn't matter what Youtubers, Tweeters and anyone else who has an opinion on Russia says, unless the Russians stop Putin, then Putin will continue his war.
