With the winter storms, there was panic buying in some areas. But if you did not have a winter storm in your area, or did not have panic buying, you are fine.
Remember, food does not come from China.

I'm seeing wet cat food disappearing lately. China almost killed our pets years ago with melamine in the pet food. I'm guessing the pet food shortage is a China thing? The only item at my store that seems to have selection that is somewhat limited is cat food.
You're probably correct. The coasts are better off than the vast Red wasteland.LOL. You should see it now. Quite a few empty shelves. Somebody did a good job shoring that up so that Christmas didn't suck for everybody who doesn't shop in October, but right now they aren't doing so well. It seems that folks that live by the ports have full shelves, folks that live in "flyover" country, not so much. This seems to be most likely due to the shortage of truck drivers.

Our meat department still runs weekly sales, and I stock up on the things we eat to stuff the freezer. Roaster chickens were $1.49/lb this week. I haven't suffered the effects of this inflation with respect to food yet. I do see that some sale items are out of stock for a day or two due to people like myself who are hording meat.
Generally we have no problems with shortages, and we're hardly a populated area. Maybe that's a good thing? One might think that Small Town USA would see worse shortages due to distribution.
Our store is running 9 Lives on special right now for a great price, but I don't think our cats eat it.Same here! And I'm about 3000 miles from you!
I don't buy any food at Walmart. Nobody should.I went to Walmart yesterday. Plenty of food and supplies, but selections were skewed. No red bell peppers, just yellow and some softening orange ones. No wheat crackers, but plenty of whole grain and regular. There were gaps of empty shelves in almost every section.
What about Chinese food?

You must have other avenues for food?
But conservatives promised me a massive economic depression if Biden were allowed to be inaugurated, not just reduced choices of peanut butter.
One stop shopping. Lowes Market has good sales on beef and pork.I don't buy any food at Walmart. Nobody should.

I'm surprised you haven't noticed your groceries are costing you 7% more.......Yesterday, I saw a few blanks shelves in the store.
I mean, like less than one percent of the store's shelf capacity.

I don't hate Walmart, nor do I boycott them. I just don't buy food there. Natural peanut butter sometimes because the price is good, but their meat/produce is sub par.One stop shopping. Lowes Market has good sales on beef and pork.
Why do you hate Walmart? What other US businesses do you hate/boycott?

When one is just swiping that EBT card what do they care?

As you described in your original post.
