Direct approach is gone from our system of govt., unless there is a super majority.

The end around is what Republicans do, so it seems to be the only effective way to make mass murder harder.

I don't necessarily agree that it HAS to be that way. The direct approach would work fine if the Democrats didn't think that politeness won them brownie points.

I agree, but you need at least 50 Democrats in the Senate. We aren't there yet.
