the power to tax

so .... you admit to being an internet stalker who seeks to become involved in the real world lives of people with whom you disagree on an internet message board?

thanks.

creep.

oh... and my house looks nothing like the photos you posted
LOL Nice straw man. You and you navy buddy Solitary have that logical fallacy down to an art form.

So you painted your house since Google took photos of it- right over all that black mold, no doubt. :cof1:

logical fallacy? did you or did you not seek out details about someone's real life....someone with whom you have had disagreements on an internet message board?

that IS creepy, SM.... whether or not you chose to admit it.

The details of who you are came to me as PMs. You bragged about your fine "Federalist" home so I spent two minutes on Google Earth to prove that you lied about that as well.

What's creepy is you, maineman, an old man preacher, imagining and posting long detailed stories about some fellow poster's daughter being gang raped, wishing other poster's dead and making up incestuous homosexual pedophile stories.

Now that's fucking creepy. *shrug*

again... you honestly believe that stalking someone you disagree with on the internet out into the real world and threatening to disrupt their real life is the sort of stuff that normal people do?

I DO live in an 1812 federalist home. And my house looks nothing like the images you posted, you freakin' creep.

hearsay from a proven liar.

and for truly discerning citizens, "value" has a lot more facets to it than tax rates... but clearly... that sort of discernment was never part of your skill set.
Actually, that's why I used the word "value". If we got what we paid for at a fair price, that would be one thing, but we obviously did not.

For instance, in New York we paid about 3.2% in real estate taxes. We had no sewer, no water, no garbage pickup, no police, volunteer fire, and the high school had one of the lowest ratings in the State. Here in NC we pay about 0.8% in real estate taxes, and have water, sewer, curbside trash and recycling pickup, the Sheriff dedicates several deputies to our village, we have a professional fire department, and our high school is consistently rated among the top in the State. *shrug*

some things have intrinsic value and that value is undiminished by varying mill rates.

So you here and now denying posting long detailed stories about some fellow poster's daughter being gang raped, wishing another poster dead and accusing another poster of being an incestuous homosexual pedophile?

Yurt, Redstatesrule, and I will attest otherwise. *shrug*

the three stooges? good for you. :lmao:

YOUR example cited nothing of intrinsic value... that certainly does not mean that living in a community or in a geographic area does not have intrinsic value.
Who cares if it does? Seriously, if the cost of business is punitive the intrinsic value will lose its allure quickly.

How are those service cited not intrinsically valuable?

because they are extrinsically valuable. every one of those services cost you MONEY to provide for yourself in one instance, and in another instance were paid for by your property tax. Beautiful scenery has intrinsic value. A vibrant cultural scene has intrinsic value. Being able to walk on the beach and watch the sunrise over the Atlantic has intrinsic value.

it is painfully obvious how dishonest and hypocritical he is....he sought out my personal details, someone with whom he has internet disagreements with....in fact, he has repeatedly posted personal information on this board that he believes is me...just yesterday he continues to describe the office in which he thinks i work....given the initials and descriptions of the building

but oh no, its you who is creepy....when he does the same thing, its fine

I think you could have used a different term, but no matter since your examples now define your point.

Per my earlier comparison between NY v NC and now your examples, the metro area of Syracuse has nothing on on the metro are of the Triad; beaches are about the same distance but less crowded than NY, certainly more swimmable; NC mountains are higher and closer (better scenery); the weather is certainty much more conducive to outside activities in NC especially with respect to overall sunshine.

Even if these examples were in favor of NY, none of them have any relation to real estate taxes, which means that NY was ripping us off, and I would attest that the desire to get a better value from your government has "intrinsic" value.

I understand that you like your area where you live now and think that government provides more for less than when compared to your previous residence in NY. Congratulations. I am glad for you that you have found a nice place to live and one where your dollar goes further. I am merely saying that, there can be things of such high intrinsic value that they overshadow and outweigh the less extrinsic value that an inefficient wasteful local government might provide.

not fine at all....merely retaliatory. it was YOU who first published your cute little hints as to my real identity that you had been able to find by whatever means you found them. the "montana" line... the "perish" line... if you find me "creepy", please realize that I only did so to keep your creepiness in check. detente.

oh... but I forgot... you have ME on ignore, don't you? :lmao:
