Soviet Union was a Slavic-Turkic alliance. The Azeris, Uzbeks, Turkmen, Kyrgyz, Kazakhs and several ethnic groups in Russia all speak Turkic languages. The Turks in Turkey and the Uighurs in China were the only Turkic people on the planet to fall outside of this alliance.

After the US’s missteps in Iraq, Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East, Turkey has decided to work with Russia on forging an alliance that would incorporate these Turkic-speaking former-Soviet Republics.

Turkey is asserting itself as an upcoming power and is not willing to submit to the west/USA.
Erdogan wants to be taken as equal something Putin is very willing to accommodate- he fears the NATO forces next to Russian borders.

Next time you think of "hey let's bring Ukraine into NATO" realize instead it's not a good idea
either for the USA, Turkey, Russia or NATO

Turkey is guilty of the Armenian Genocide.

How would you feel about a Germany that still believed killing Jews was right?

Good. Fuck Turkey.

My God you are an idiot. You just spew out stupid shit without the slightest clue of the strategic location of Turkey or the importance it has in the alliance. You are like Biden, just pull out of Afghanistan, fuck it, and kill hundreds of Americans and throw away the greatest strategic airbase we had for fighting terrorism. You and your ilk are dangerous in your stupidity.

Beginning to see the formation of a new set of alliances. China, Russia, Iran, Turkey and Pakistan.
India is a wild card that Trump was courting. Biden as well ( in his usual hit and miss manner)
They are most definitely not an alliance to be messed with.

You mean they haven’t been for quite a while now

Playing both sides against the middle, and even the Ottoman Empire didn’t include the majority of those lands so I don’t know where this sudden quest for unification comes form

Nah, too much history between several of the nations you listed, for beginners, a Sunni Pakistan isn’t in any hurry to buddie up with a Shiite Iran, nor a Hindu India. Can infer the same for Turkey Iran, and even during the Cold War, Russia and China weren’t the best of allies

why dont you post something relevant to the last 100 years?

Turkey is a “dictatorship” that harshly penalizes citizens for criticizing the military, the Turkish nation, president, government institutions, or national heroes, says journalist Uzay Bulut. In an era of ‘alternative facts’ Bulut upholds truth and justice for the oppressed minorities in her homeland of Turkey by defying the autocratic government. Endangering her own safety and living in self-imposed exile is the sacrifice for continuing to unearth and publish articles on Turkey’s genocidal past and ongoing human rights violations.

Language is just as important as religion. Iran has been funding terrorism in Afpak ( Shi'a and Sunni)

China and Russia are historic rivals -but not anymore ( thanks to our bumbling NATO expansion and sanctions)

realpolitik is dynamic
Erdogan looks to better Turkey and we wont even deliver his F-35s he paid for.
Why he's turning to Russia ( among other reasons)
. Obama did the same thing to Egypt and undid 40 years of US policy to keep Russia out of Egypt

You are only seeing one small perspective -like seeing only the tip of an iceberg
