Turkey is currently in the process of dropping out of NATO in favor of Russia

Lots of people for years have been saying that the Turkey nukes had to go.

They're gone, and there's no reason for Erdogan to be in NATO.

I think Obama tried to "regime-change" him, and it epicly failed.

Not that regime change has ever worked, ever.

we have them all over Europe. I supposed if Turkey actually left NATO it would be a big problem
but no reason they couldn't be removed
But Turkey leaving NATO has all kinds of downsides -the only advantage is not dealing with Erdogan
and it's not worth removing from NATO

Soviet Union was a Slavic-Turkic alliance. The Azeris, Uzbeks, Turkmen, Kyrgyz, Kazakhs and several ethnic groups in Russia all speak Turkic languages. The Turks in Turkey and the Uighurs in China were the only Turkic people on the planet to fall outside of this alliance.

After the US’s missteps in Iraq, Syria and elsewhere in the Middle East, Turkey has decided to work with Russia on forging an alliance that would incorporate these Turkic-speaking former-Soviet Republics.

Well I hope Turkey enjoys getting its turkey roasted at messing around with Russians, and at being useless anyway at the Turkey being indebted to the U.S. As of 2020, the national debt of Turkey amounted to around 216.02 billion U.S. dollars. https://www.statista.com/statistics...ional debt, around 216.02 billion U.S. dollars.

Good.

Turkey is a “dictatorship” that harshly penalizes citizens for criticizing the military, the Turkish nation, president, government institutions, or national heroes, says journalist Uzay Bulut. In an era of ‘alternative facts’ Bulut upholds truth and justice for the oppressed minorities in her homeland of Turkey by defying the autocratic government. Endangering her own safety and living in self-imposed exile is the sacrifice for continuing to unearth and publish articles on Turkey’s genocidal past and ongoing human rights violations.

Turkey has moved from secular to Islamic Quack. This should tell you how 'useful' Turkey would be dealing with the Middle East.

If they want to be properly exploited, they should go with China, not Russia.
Just ask the entire continent of Africa!
