Worth keeping? I doubt it. Read the agreement. It makes me laugh that you think the Taliban would keep their word about carrying out the terms. We've know for twenty years what we're dealing with and we couldn't change it. These are tribal people whose first allegiance is to their own, not to some American idea of democracy. Even the Northern Alliance couldn't defeat them.

The Taliban would either keep the terms or be dodging bombs. It’s the only thing they understand.

And I’m still waiting to see the part where Trump was going to leave people and munitions behind.

There's nothing in the agreement that says they'd be bombed if they didn't keep to the terms. That was strictly trump posturing. When was he lying, then or now?

They'll eventually push it, but they'll wait until we leave because they know, as soon as we get our people out, we could bomb the shit out of all that munitions, supplies and crater the runway.

If leaving Afghanistan were easy, it would probably have been done a long time ago. Four presidents have presided over the 20-year war. Three have said they wanted to get out. None, until President Biden, were willing to pull the plug and face the consequences.

Regardless, this is just a fuck up and not a major one at that. Everyone wanted out of Afghanistan since there was nothing to be gained.

The fuck up was the White House seeing what they wanted to see by underestimating the Afghan government's ability to stand by itself. Biden and his cabinet would have listened to the SecState and SecDef give their recommendations after everyone listened to the reports of commanders on the ground, the CIA, Embassy officials, contractors, etc. then Biden would make the decision.

Usually when a fiasco like this happens, the President praises all involved, claims to accept responsibility then his henchmen start publicly blaming the military or intelligence services for dropping the ball.

When Turner and Hildago were allowed to run things our numbers went down. Abbot took control away and our numbers went up. Governors should let the local leaders make decisions for their cities.
