Oh I love this guy

Everyone in the USA needs to vote

The republicans cheating needs to be killed once and for all

While I readily agree it's a civic duty for all eligible citizens to vote, I also believe it's a civic duty for theirs to be an informed vote.

The Republicans are deliberately seeking to disenfranchise the most likely Democrat voters; the poor. It's class warfare and the same shit the Koch Brothers were pushing for years.

IMO, the better, more patriotic option for the Republican party is to advocate better education and training of all Americans. The more educated middle-class voters in America, the more likely they'll vote more moderately if not a little more conservatively.

How are they disenfranchising anyone?

By making voting more difficult you diminish the number of people voting. Since more dems vote, reducing turnout closes the gap.

Republicans want to run slow the game down -shorten the game strategy, same as
in basketball. It is a favored strategy for the less talented team. Reduce possessions, keep it close, maybe eke out a win.

That's what all the laws proposed in the many red states are intended to do. Hold on by holding down the score.

I don’t care what the evil Republican Party wants

They hate America and hate Americans

The behavior of political parties is much like dogmatic religions: Initially they start from a common group of people with a specific goal to to help everyone. Over time, such organizations invariably turn to be more about promoting the organization than the initial goals.

The Republicans don't hate all Americans, but they most certainly hate Americans who don't agree with them. That's not patriotic, that's just a political party putting it's agenda over the best interests of the nation. The Democratic party isn't innocent either. Same goes for Evangelical churches and the Catholic Church.

There are multiple examples of this in other groups. I don't have a solution to the problem.

That does appear to be the plan. It's a minority attempting to control the majority...often through lies and oppressive legislation.

How many of these efforts by Republicans have been shot down in court? Is anyone keeping track? Dozens?

Y'all know I'm not a lawyer, but I do have experience in human behavioral trends. When a group continually pushes legislation that is constantly being shot down in court, IMO, that's a major disconnect between truth and justice versus that group's actions.

Results count.

It's a tough slog in the courts too though, given the primacy of states in conduct of elections and their respective secretaries of state and state houses. Deference will go to them.

I fully support State's Rights and limiting the reach of the Federal government** but the given is that all the States must comply with the Constitution. Most of the violations by States have to do with the 14th Amendment, specifically the Equal Protection Clause.

Although not CRT, there are structures in our government that are harming the nation. #1 is how we educate our children. About 92% of all school funding is local. Only 8% is Federal IIRC. That's why kids in Malibu get iPads the first day of class and kids in Chickasaw City Schools are struggling for textbooks. As the link notes, the problem extends outside school too.

IMO, the basic education and health of American citizens is a national security issue. It's also an economic issue since educated citizens are more productive whereas lesser educated or the sick are liabilities.

School district quality is one of the most important factors homebuyers consider when looking for a place to live – particularly for new or expecting parents. A good school district can greatly increase a child’s chances of future success.

Of course, the influences that can shape a child’s future are not strictly limited to the classroom. Conditions in the home and the broader community also have an effect.

Using data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the National Center for Education Statistics, 24/7 Wall St. developed an index of measures, including the child poverty rate, the teacher-to-student ratio, per-pupil spending, the share of adults with a college education, and the high school graduation rate to determine the school district where students are least likely to succeed in every state...

...One of the most important predictors of a child’s academic success is their poverty status. Children living below the poverty line are more likely to report poor physical health and have reduced ability to concentrate and retain information.

Childhood poverty increases the likelihood of low test scores and reduces a student’s chances of completing high school. For this reason, the child poverty rate was selected as a component in the index. Here is a state-by-state look at the child poverty rate. ...

**as the JPP RWNJs keep proposing about sending the military into Portland

Agreed its about education. It's also about misinformation from "alternate media" and making good paying livable wage jobs ubiquitous. Fix these three things.

Imagine an educated, correctly informed polity that can live reasonably comfortably in our country. That is certainly NOT the Republican plan at this point in my life.
