Where does the constitution define a lot of terms. ??? Such as "arms" or "religion" ?? Intelligent people know what these words mean, you moron. A city 8 miles wide cannot be a state.

Democrats want DC to get statehood only because it will add to their numbers in the House and Senate. But, as usual, they use race as a distraction and smokescreen. You know as well as I do that they couldn't care less about blacks or anybody else. Raw power is what they want.

I am following the idea that nearly a million people living in America pay taxes and do not get their representation. Does taxation without representation ring a bell? DC residents are subject to selective service. They are subject to laws and decisions made by the Federal govt but have no input.

That's funny because the writers of the Constitution were well versed in Greek history. Do you know what Athens and Sparta were called? They weren't 8 miles wide either.
 
If desolate rockpiles like the two Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, and their like can be states, the District of Columbia certainly can.

There are actual people in DC.

One can actually come up with a reason for being there...other than to play cowboy, I guess.

No, not a left wing power grab, a Democratic Party power grab. More power to 'em. Republicans threw out Marcus of Queensbury rules a long time ago. I hope they do more of this. It won't come close to the voter suppression, gerrymandering, and obstruction engaged in by the other party. After Trump, I'm done fucking around.
