The population of D.C. is only 700,000. The average number of constituents per Representatives is about 750,000. They would be allowed the minimum which is one. They would not qualify for another until they reached 1.5 million (the number of which will have grown by then).

Not about geography, cows don’t pay tax, but rather people, and currently DC is larger than two current States, nearly three, and DC has no representation on the Federal level

Currently in Congress today close to seventy Congressional districts don’t contain 700,000 people, Wyoming alone is only 580,000 Americans

Their population exceeds 2 states and is close to a couple of others. The numbers do not back that argument. The real shocker us rightys bleat about rights and are at peace with DC residents not having representation while paying taxes and subject to selective service. It might make ins think this is not about right and wrong but politics, If they were Reds the cry about not having their rights would be loud and long.

No it hasn't. That's why we got Biden instead of, say, Warren. And Joe Manchin is anything but far left. We've lost site of what 'far left' is because Trumps trained seals have been barking socialism without a clue as to what it means. Either way, this is party politics, not ideology. Because Republicans have no ideology. They have no ideas, they have no principles, they have a single goal.... stay in power. Democrats have ideas, the vast majority of those ideas are widely popular. But they are not extreme at all. The idea of single payer health care would simply align us with the rest of the civilized world. Same with this infrastructure bill, it would simply start us on the road to catching up with the rest of the industrialized world. If far left means the party doesn't want to return to the '50s then count me in. Universal single payer health care, a one time wealth tax, a restructuring of the tax code to make it more progressive, common sense gun control measures, voting rights, police reform, immigration reform...... all of them popular with a majority of the country. That ain't far left. That's what the majority wants. Republicans want to obstruct it. Democrats should remove those obstacles with whatever tools they have.

I understand. The size of the population has nothing to do with the issue. The capital is to be in a federal district separate from any state and does not get congressional representation. Just return that land to MD and the problem is settled.
