Guilty of murder. All three charges!

just remember the system isnt broken it is designed this way........there is a lot to d o and a deep dig to find the equality.

My wife and I were discussing the genesis of vehicle stops for some equipment issue. Or for expired tags. Or for...... you get the idea. They have ALWAYS been a pretext for stopping people who the cops didn't like. So I understand what you're saying. That said, the importance of this verdict can't be understated. The discussions that are needed to move forward are finally starting to happen. An acquittal would have set that back years.

Trump out, Biden in. A cop convicted of murder. We are entering a new, more positive, era in America.

There is more consensus than most think about the need for police reform in general.

I haven't loved a lot of the national dialogue on the entire topic, but one thing that is starting to be talked about more is the concept of policing in general. What do they need to protect people from, and what level of force is needed? Can we start mailing out fines instead of creating confrontation over things like expired registrations and traffic offenses?

The entire way we approach law enforcement needs to be changed, and the relationship of police to the communities they serve. This, to me, is a very healthy conversation - and one where there is much agreement between the left & right.

Can politicians take that consensus and arrive at common sense solutions? There is a mandate to do so. We can only hope.

as long as whites are afraid of blacks nothing will change.......you cant legislate hate.

i keep telling yall white people need to change.

My hope is that we are. The pandemic has in some ways served as a reset, and there are opportunities for the world to make positive change. We'll see. Things are certainly way better than they were a year ago.

Maybe I'm naïve here but getting true reform is far less likely to occur, imo, when it is framed simply as right vs left. And maybe I'm naive that anything bi-partisan can happen these days. But to me, for real reform and improvement there has to be bigger buy in and a whole story told. The current way we tell the story doesn't produce that.

fuck bipartinship...no one wants to compromisr with racist. thats the problem now, trying to sati sfy racist white america makings sure they they have a seat at the table.

let them eat off the fuckin floor.........NO COMPROMISING WITH RACIST!

I like the word, "reset." True. When everyone suffers equally from a pandemic the opportunities for empathy abound.

Amazing it was three guilty verdicts.

i keep telling yall white people need to change.

I suggest you try to help us decontaminate the racists brains that can be saved

Then we as a nation can kick the unsalvageable ones back into the sewer where they belong

No one who can be saved should be wasted

All that does is waste a human and bolsters the racists numbers

MLK said nothing will change until Black folk accept the fact that poor White folk have the same boot of oppression on their neck.

Malcolm X said nothing will change until people get angry. He didn't specify black or white, he simply said angry people bring about change.

With 60 million unemployed, there's a lot of angry people in the US. Who's afraid of who?

Agreed it takes strong emotion to bring about change quickly. Some things change simply because conditions change. Others need a boost which is where the emotion comes in. That said, logic should still prevail as it did in the Chauvin verdict today.

Note who is unemployed and why. Step One: identify the problem. Step Two: identity solutions for the problem. Step Three: enact solutions.

If the US wants to stay great, then the nation as a whole should be pushing for better educated Americans. Better educated Americans mean more productive Americans and more productive taxpayers. This doesn't mean "free college", which is just printing money, but it does mean finding cheaper and more efficient ways to educate Americans.

Ten whole hours? Did they want the free lunch before sending out the verdict?

letting you all know what the problem is is the start.

The US is a giant tinderbox contained by militarized police. The Chauvin conviction is a bandaid on a nation ready to explode. Revolt comes quickly.
