America is losing its religion — and the effects will be long-lasting

Agreed. OTOH, PhalsemoderProfit and others believe in GOP Jesus, not the Jesus you and I read about in the Gospels:

GOP Jesus

You forgot to call everyone who disagrees with you a "Demmycunt", PhalseProfit.

He sounds like a Falwell Liberty University graduate to me.

Atheist continuing to post about something they do not believe in, priceless! I believe in the trinity, tell me where I am a Republican Jesus believer!

Matt, get a grip, dude. I'm not an atheist as anyone who has followed my religious posts knows.

The meme you quoted gives the differences. Are you saying you're a Liberal Jesus believer, not a Republican Jesus believer?

The history of Religion is something any educated person will take an interest in. One cannot be informed about western civilization without being informed about religious history.

I generally find on message boards that agnostics and atheists tend to know more about the history of Christianity and Christian theology than do bible thumping rightwingers.

And as I said yesterday I am coming around to thinking that this is so. As Jordan Peterson said the West has lost our ability to regenerate, he does not know why but once that goes the civilization dies if it cant get it restarted in time.

The West is Toast....it is already too late for us....our goose is cooked.

The West and America were something once.

SAD

Did Putin teach you those lines

There is no cure for an incurious mind

MORE OF YOUR HATRED AND LIES WE SEE, MONKEY BOY.

Where is the lie?

BTW, your attention whore posts are increasingly attention seeking. At some point you are going to run out of font size, fonts and other measures for you to scream your desires for attention from the world. I'm also curious if you pound on your keyboard as hard as you're trying to attract attention to yourself.

Religions divide people. They are us against them since success is getting more power, parishioners, and money. Religions have caused wars and conflicts throughout history. Religions get perverted by the leaders and evangelical preachers have done it in public. It would be a much kinder world if religions did not exist.

You have done nothing to refute my original point that Luther and Calvin were broadly influential theologically on world Protestantism, irrespective of denomination.

Try again.
/shrugs and you've provide nothing to support your erroneous claim that....

You need to ask for your tuition money back from whatever Trumpish theological seminary you got ripped off at.

First of all, I gave you reputable links demonstrating Luther and Calvin have profound theological influence throughout world Protestantism, irrespective of denomination.

This is basic theological knowlege your dime store seminary failed to impart to you.

Next, the Protestant theological tenets of salvation by faith alone, election by grace, biblical literalism, biblical inerrancy, shunning of ritual and iconography, eschewing of ecclesiastical authority - all come from 500 years ago directly from Luther, Calvin and their theological traditions.

Those theological traditions were not invented in your obscure bible thumping American evangelical church. You inherited them from Luther and Calvin.

The Falwell Bible school you went to did you a tremendous disservice. Because I am not even a Protestant, but I seemingly know more about Protestant history than you do.

no Falwell, and your ignorance is unbounded.......those traditions are founded in scripture....not the teachings of Luther.....you're right that you aren't a protestant......nor do you have even an elementary understanding of theology.......by the way, thanks for admitting Falwell isn't Lutheran or Calvinist......I realize it fucks up your argument.......and I find it amusing you didn't realize it......../grins......by the way, you suck at losing.....it makes you all whiney and bitchy......
