1000 out of over 500,000 protest the war in Seattle? Must be the left fringe at work, huh? And that was on day 2. I remember this protest. It last several days, had a grand total of about 12,000 protesters. There were also several hundred arrests which the mindless left created into an anti-free speech conspiracy theory when videos of the events clearly showed the arrests to be of people who deserved it.
The reaction of the left is very telling. They are scared spitless of what is going on. The right has never before been about public protests. Now a nation wide movement is started and pulled off - over 2000 protests nation wide on the same day. Even if the average population was under 200, that is still several hundred thousand people protesting on the same day.
So the reaction: ridicule, ignore, complain. And if ever there was proof of MSM bias, it was shown with the way the event was handled in the media. Local stations covered it, but the only response from most national media outlets was to ignore the event, or to ridicule it. CNN sent some brain dead bitch to hassle the protestors, ask them questions then shout her answers over theirs, and then leave in a huff because the crowd was "anti-CNN". Talk about a blatant show of bias and agenda.

There were other media personalities who deliberately mislabeld the events and/or participants as "tea baggers". (Significantly more insulting than "anti-American in my book.) And then there were statements from democratic politicians calling the protests "despicable", and lying about what the protests were aimed at. The protest was about spending, not about taxation, even though it was deliberately scheduled for tax day. There will be more protests once the new tax programs are in place. (But I did notice that her description of tax increases is now limited the promise of no tax increases to THIS year. She also lied about no tax increases for 95% of people since more than 5% smoke, more than 5% invest in the stock market, etc. Not to mention letting the Bush cuts expire - which affected everyone who pays taxes and many who don't)

All in all we saw a treatment of a valid protest event that makes the Bushite reactions to the anti-war protests ridiculously mild. Funny how the left revels in the same behaviors they decried a few short years ago. Bunch of fucking hypocrits is what they are. And no, the kindergarten excuse of "they did it first" does not cut it in the adult world. If an action is wrong, then it is wrong.
But get used to it. Your leadership is throwing around money like it grows on trees. (It does not.) A government simply can NOT toss out a large percentage of the GNP in a few months and expect no consequences down the road. Your leadership is lying like rugs about future taxation. And the fucking bunch of them are every bit as corrupt as the Bush admin was. Shit, Obama has to go through a list a mile long typed in 8 point letters to get enough non-criminals to fill his cabinet.
