Obama Sent The Best To Kill Teenagers

I've seen Mel Gibson's historical documentary - 'The Patriot' and even i have to admit that we were truly beastly.

Hey, at least Cornwalis (in part because Tom Wilkinson is a fine actor) came off as a rather civilised fellow. I mean, know one even remembers the name of the wretched colonel who served under him, although he was magnificantly evil (in part because Jason Isaacs is a truly fantastic actor who is good at being evil).

Isaacs is a truly underrated actor for sure. I also enjoyed Tom Wilkinsons portrayal of Benjamin Franklin in the James Madison miniseries last year.

That's who I meant. When the fuck are we going to take the Jackass off of the $20 and put someone deserving on it already?

Who did you think I meant? Michael?
Andrew Jackson was instrumental in staving off the advent of the Fed and he was the last US President to have participated in the American Revolution.

Yeah, and for his efforts, Damo, we got a massive recession. The Fed may do stupid things with the money supply and inflationary policy, but it is indespensible in commerce and its M1, M2, etc. transactions...

That is quite a stretch.

There is little doubt that his actions were historically important to this nation. Pretending that there is nothing that we could learn from his Presidency just because you want to dismiss him is pretense. There is a reason he's on the 20, and many Americans have no idea what his contributions are. Even if you believe they were all negative, there is still reason to understand what decisions he made and how they impacted us for decades afterward. Even if you were correct and he was the reason we "got a massive recession", that would be reason enough to learn from him.

IMO, his action staved off that advent for decades and it was the action of creating the Fed that created the "massive recession".

Threedee probably dislikes Jackson because of Jackson's reputation as a rabble-rouser who ended the era of "government by gentlemen".

Threedee, for absolutely incomprehensible and unfounded reasons, likes to see himself as part of an aristocratic elite and looks down on Jacksonian democracy.
