Is Black history month racist!?

What makes most modern Blacks a victim!?

I think we've been over this before, haven't we? I'm really not going to waste another 15 minutes typing black American history to you. How the entire society, including its economy and government, were founded on and relied on the subjugation of black people. I'm not saying that Polish Americans have not been victims of discrimination. I'm saying that to compare it to the experience of black Americans makes you just about the stupidest motherfucker posting right now.

The biggest ethnicity in the USA is German.

Who Germans have been attacking, killing & oppressing Poles for up to 1,000+ years.

Why do Jews get a free pass because of Nazis!?

Well, Poles also got butchered & oppressed by Nazi Germany.

Denzel Washington said 30 years ago he was prejudiced upon!?

You know how many times I've been prejudiced upon for being Polish, Irish or White in the past 30 years!?

About 50+ times.

And not one of those times was appropriate. No one, including you, should ever have to face discrimination based on their race, ethnicity, color, gender, sex, or sexual orientation. However, it is so mind numbingly dense of you and incredibly offensive for you to come on here day after day and say that you're mistreated and it's not fair that black people get special treatment.

Now you're just crying into your whiskey. You're not a victim. I don't support anyone discriminating against you because you're a Pole. There are plenty of better reasons to discriminate against you. But stop comparing your experiences to others. If you want a special day or month or whatever it is you're bitching about today, organize it.

I addressed precisely why your OP's basis for it's question/assertion is logically, factually and historically wrong UNLESS IT MET SIMILAR CRITERIA THAT BLACK FOLK DID IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA.

I never stated that racism and bigotry were solely the problem of black folk in America. As you aptly point out, white folk hate each other to various degrees....that in no way equates with over 200 years of slavery with an additional century of Jim Crow. And like I previously alluded to, Italians, Polish and French all have their places throughout the American history taught in our schools....it's been that way for a LONG time. "black history" teachings had to fight for the last 40 years of so just to get equivalent recognition.

And FYI, the only "demeaning" stereotypes for the folk you mention exist(ed), but REAL HISTORY taught in schools did NOT reinforce them like they did for black folk, who's contributions, trials and tribulations were severly limited in American history for quite a while. A matter of fact, a matter of history that revisionist racist just can't stand to deal with.

I learned about Russian Tsars in public school but not the Polish king Jan Sobieski who saved Europe ( Vienna) from Islamic Ottoman Turk invasions.

I learned about Copernicus but they never emphasized his Polishness.

Yes, I do think the USA public schools encourage anti Polish sentiment.

They basically just taught me Poland lost to the Nazis.

What your point? I learned in school about famous Polish contributions to the Revolutionary, Civil, World Wars. Growing up in New York suburbs, the Pulaskin Day parade is annually televised. The Polish empires vs. Ottoman got mentioned by my history teacher(s). Guess it's all about what your local gov't did for new text and hiring decent teachers.

Now I get your point.....your particular ethnic group didn't get the distinction you feel it deserved. Get in line. The Native Americans got us both beat on that. And I'm sure every other group...even the Irish....want more than just a holiday/parade recognition.

But

Until about 45 years ago, the most black folk got were George Washington Carver and serious white wash (pardon the pun) of our positive contributions to this country.

And NO, indentured servants were NOT the equivalent of slaves...as there was no gov't law that deemed them less than human to be sold and bred as such for 2 centuries.

So if you want more Polish history incorporated into the schools, write your congressman, start a movement, get people involved. That's how it's done, son. NOT this bigoted tinge whine you put here.

Well, I've been prejudiced upon about 50+ times more than Denzel Washington in the past 30 times.

I've been "prejudiced upon" somewhere around 13,000 times in real life plus another however many online. You have no realistic perspective on this.

Saint Patricks day is one day.

It's not like Black History month.

Black history month promotes Black achievements, intellects & history.

Irish have no such institutional privilege.

So again, what are you whining about? That blacks get a month of history review in the public eye but white ethincs don't? You should watch some of the educational channels on TV or order a better grade of newspaper. Irish history get's a lot of attention before March 17th, and I'm not just talking retail sales. If you don't know this, then you need to get out more.

Black history month promotes Black achievements, intellects & history. So? Again, how is that inconveniencing you? What does that prevent YOU from knowing or doing? It's been 45 years since this started and to date the vast majority of black and non-black Americans don't know the information. Like I said, you want more Polish history being told nationwide, write to Ken Burns.

What is this "institutional privilege" guff you keep going on about? St. Patricks Day sure as hell didn't come about without local gov't approval. And we're talking INFORMATION, in many cased pivotal history points. ALL ethnic and racial groups in America can claim this....none were an integral part of American history as recognized (displaced) sub humans for 2 centuries, then marginalized for yet another. It's a historical correction and the antithesis of the current bigoted mindset of the willfully ignorant in America who are active in their racism against black folk. If you're not one of those, then you have nothing to complain about.

So, there we have it Blacks aren't treated so bad.

Typical racist rhetoric.....if they're not in slavery and no more Jim Crow, what are they complaining about?

Do a little honest research regarding red-lining, predator lending, voter suppression. those are just for starters. Let us know if Polish folk are going through the same crap.
