OK. Is the greatness of a nation in any way judged by its total landmass?
HAHA. They are disorganized insurgents. If we used China-style tactics and did it in full force half the population of Afghanistan and Iraq would be dead, but sure, we would have had a Pyrrhic victory. We defeated the Iraqui government in about a week, we've been dealing with disorganized militias which are difficult to contain since then, and it hasn't been exactly a "losing" ordeal as much as a stalemate. Again, we haven't been putting our full effort into this.
How are you defining "defeated"? It's absurd to say that we are in "defeat" at the current state of things.
China has a per capita income of 6000. No US state is even close to that low. The only regions that even come close are Appalachia and the Delta. A great deal of China's population lives in the extremely poor western end. China has FEWER labor protections than even America, and no guarantee of health care, which is incredible for a supposedly socialist country.
This is so vague as to be meaningless. Of course the unemployment rate has gone up. This happens from time to time. It was 8% in the 80's too, that didn't lead to gloom and doom.
You can be not concerned all you want. I am simply trying to make a rational argument. A rational argument is not "propaganda".
Great. You are still in the agriculture phase of economic development. Congratulations.
Plenty of things. No society is perfect. You execute thousands of people every year, for instance, which is an unbelievable atrocity. China has no concern for human rights and refuses to feed their poor. The government-corporate partnerships are incredibly inefficient. China is not so much growing as catching up. It's economic system is better than its old one but still not as good as the free market. It will never approach the US on per capita basis until liberals take control and institute market and democratic reforms. The US + EU will be more powerful until then, even with CHinas far far greater population.
I have no arrogance. I am perfectly willing to recognize my countries weaknesses. It's ironic that you accuse ME of being arrogant when your entire speech completely glossed over CHina's flaws.
I'll educate myself from a neutral resource, thankyou very much.
