The less loony ones are already going away. They are appearing on MSNBC and confessing their abandonment, some becoming Democrats. A political party can't wrap itself forever around a personality and survive. Republicans signaled their political bankruptcy when they came out of their convention last summer without a platform. That declared they were the party of Donald Trump - whatever he says at any moment is what we say. The fatal logic of this is when Trump is finished the GOP is finished. So it may be. The problem would be less dire if Trump articulated a coherent philosophy, but he doesn't. He stands merely for the magnification of himself.

Many Democrats didn't vote so much for Biden as against Trump. They are not happy already. Here is what could happen.

Prior to the election Biden had a 44% favorable and a 46% unfavorable rating. Thus C.O. may be correct.
Biden has obtained a percentage that Trump never received.
I doubt if the Toadstool will run again, much less on the (R) ticket. If he does, he'll form his own party. There are still plenty of idiots and morons who gladly give him their money and their votes.
Biden has no reason to pardon Hunter. Hunter has not been charged nor indicted for crimes, despite what the conspiracy derps believe.

Most of the public doesn't care about the Hunter Biden "scandals." It's one of the reasons Trump lost.
I agree that the Republicans don't want to run Trump again, but if Trump does choose to run again, they're screwed. If they refuse to let him run, the backlash among Conservatives would be epic. It would guarantee that the Democrat wins.
But I don't think Trump will run again. He'll probably control the GOP through tweets and appearances on OAN.
And where are the Republicans going to find an "intelligent moderate" to run...
