MAMA

Good you agree the fucking Russians aren't a democracy but disagree that it doesn't matter.

Both China and Russia are hostile to American interests. Anyone who thinks Russia is our friend is an enemy.

Do you agree that we ally with several non-democratic countries?

Do you agree that we ally with several non-democratic countries?

Yes.

Do you agree we should ally with any nation as long as it's in the best interests of the United States?

What should we do about nations that are committing cyberwar against the United States of America?

Obviously you think Russia should be our best friend and Western Europe is our enemy.

We agree on China as an enemy.

I don't think Western Europe is our enemy. I do think they're very confused on their priorities, however. Socially, they've gone pretty far left, and it's destroying their cultures.

Tell everyone how great Russia is over Western Europe. You're very good at it.

It depends on the measure. Overall quality of life in Western Europe is better. How long that lasts is the question.

Russia has a healthier level of nationalism, and Russian Orthodox Christianity is in a healthier state than the watered down Catholicism and Protestantism of most of Western Europe.

What the West is slowly coming to realize is that materialism doesn't fill the void left culturally by secularism. I say this even as an atheist. What holds a culture together are values. If values start getting watered down through materialism and the family structure begins to dissolve, everything else eventually follows.

It is going to be hard to argue with that.

Your defense of Russia over Western Civilization is acknowledged but disagreed upon.

Why do you think Russian values are superior to Western values?

It's not that Russian values overall are better than Western ones. I would argue Russian Orthodox values are more supported by the Russian population than Catholic or Protestant values are supported by Western European populations.

Progressivism is becoming the religion of Western Europe and even North America. The values put forward by this ideology are often very destructive. The Sexual Revolution, for example, negatively affected the family structure in the West and expedited the spread of venereal diseases.

Russia went through a lot of terrible things under the Soviet Union, but when it fell, the people responded by embracing the Russian Orthodox Church. The faith had never truly gone away, but under Soviet rule, Russian Orthodox Christians had to worship in secret for the most part. With Communism gone, they were now able to worship openly. This allowed Russian society to slowly get back in touch with its spiritual culture. We're seeing the opposite trend in much of Western Europe, as they embrace more materialism, progressivism, and secularism.

Ironically, however, the rise in Islam's presence may mean some significant changes for Western Europe in terms of culture. Migrants tend to be a lot more family-oriented and traditional than the native populations, and this may result in Islamic values taking hold in certain parts of Western and Northern Europe. It will be interesting to watch.

Nice speech. The Chinese support their government too...or else. Even a Billion Chinese can be wrong. Same goes for the fucking Russians.

I wasn't talking about the Russian government. I'm talking about Russian culture. That lives on regardless of who runs the country.

IMHO their membership in NATO has given the turks license to move back into central asia & Russia has not confronted any of it.. Up till the Armenian war..

They have caused problems & attacked Cyprus & Greece-that, IMHO should have been the end or @ least a curtailing of their NATO membership & NATO protections..

You are familiar w/ their play in Libya-what's next??
good info. TY
Erdogan want a succes in Libya to distract from domestic problems, and he has hegemonic desires on the Mediterranean and north Africa ( Maghreb/Sahel)

What is Turkey’s endgame in Libya?

a woman I went out with took a tour of Russian kremlins ( small k).
the Russian Orthodox church is greatly valued for stability and i suppose values now that THe USSR is gone..

PS.you talking to CARP is a waste of your time -he's an idiot, but i do appreciate you well though out posts

Thanks. It is true that Maoism has some connections with Confucianism, but overall, Mao sought to destroy much of Confucian thought and customs. When the Red Guards attacked the Four Olds, Confucianism was considered an enemy ideology/philosophy. It is true that both Confucianism and Maoism are collectivist, although I would say that Maoism is far more destructive.

cvery true. I'm impressed you know the "four olds" as well! that's getting pretty granular
My point was Maoism overthru traditional Chinese values, but that same national hive mind allows China to focus on the collective vs. individualism like the west embraces

Russian governmenta have come and gone. Russian culture endures. You post trivial nonsense

ROFLMAO. Duuuude! Thanks for proving Russian culture keeps failing at creating government. They're as fucked up as the Italians.

OTOH, Russians were smart enough to steal nuke tech from the Americans but the Italians were not. Kudos to your failing culture.
