You're conflating two different demographics. Biden did get BACK a good portion of non college educated white men in key states. Still not a majority across the nation. But many of the idiots who voted for trump in '16, never followed politics before. The union workers were always Democrats.

Nobody 'cut into' working class men but trump in '16.

Given all of the mail in this year the exit polling is certain crap, and lets be honest their work lately has been generally crap.

At least he is no longer wearing a bow tie... Carlson has had a long history of hating the working class. He claims they are stealing from the elite by having rights. He really drank the Ayn Rand Koolaid.

Unions were traditionally Democrat, but the Republicans broke unionism in the 80s. The "right to work" low IQ Beta Males supported their "champions".

I think that a small portion of trump supporters were irritated by trump's horseshit but tolerated it. I think a large portion enjoyed trump's criminal behavior angering his political opponents (based on my observation of some of the folks in these discussion forums).

Michigan didn't become a Right To Work state until 2012. Nordberg was talking years/decades before that that the union workers were right-wing deplorables.

Are you denying the concept has been at work since the 1980s?

Michigan, especially Detroit, was a bastion of Democrat unionism. The fact Michigan flipped red for Trump proves unionism is dead in America.

Where am I denying anything? Two contradictory statements were made. One stating Michigan union workers were always Democrats and one stating most were right-wing deplorables. Elements of each of those statements can be true. I'm not familiar with Detroit car unions so I don't claim to know the answer.

A third POV is that they weren't Democrats. How many voters in 2016 voted for Trump simply because he wasn't Hillary? How many 2016 voters refused to vote simply because they wouldn't vote for Trump or Hillary?

The fact the 2020 election, as they have been for the past few, is very tight because most Americans do not agree with either party.
