I think you've spent too much energy seeking why it's "not fair" and not enough working towards your own success. It's easy to blame other people because you aren't on their "list". I think your excuses are weak and based on fear. I've noted that earlier and still hold that opinion. I think you are weak and afraid that your failure will be notably your own fault and you therefore try to make the lists the reason for your failures.

You see them as both bad, and something desirable.

As I said previously. I can see how they have been effective. Within my own lifetime I have noted the changes for the better. While I don't like the approach and think there are better ways of doing things than government stricture I can see why people who are invested in government intervention will keep them.

I won't fight your attempt to get included on the lists, because I think by the time white guys need it and it is recognized as a standard rather than something that is more a rarity the lists will no longer be needed.

It's cool. You can rail against the lists and fight to get "everybody on them" so that they'll be "fair". Me, I'll work on things I think are more important and less likely to go "your way" with no action of my own.

Frankly I don't need the special help of government to set my goals and gain success, and I will teach my children to act the same.

But how it actually is, is that there are a limited number of positions that open up in a company at a given time, and legal has to think twice about hiring a white male, because this opens them up to lawsuits from anyone else. The only person they can passover safely, with no fear of a lawsuit, is a white male. Thus, being safe, they hire everyone else first. That's the reality.
