Anyone have any scuttlebut on Nevada? I.e. - where the remaining votes are coming from...do they expect the remaining count to favor either candidate?

That appears to be the deciding state on this one, at least at the moment.

According to the teevee, the votes still outstanding are mostly in Las Vegas and Reno, two areas where Biden led Trump.

No, it was a result of a combination of socialism-lite and distrust on the part of FDR and the Democrats of industry. It started with WW 2. FDR imposed wage and price controls on industry and many goods to prevent "war profiteering." This resulted in companies needing high paid, skilled labor having to find a way to increase their wages without increasing their actual wage. So, companies started offering "free" health insurance, cafeterias for meals (to circumvent rationing to a degree) for employees, and other non-pay perks. When the war ended, some of these disappeared but health insurance stayed in place. It expanded to more companies to keep up with competition for workers post war.
Then LBJ got involved with his disastrous "Great Society" that introduced Medicare that was touted as no costing more than $1 billion after ten years (it mushroomed to nearly $100 billion in that time). Next came Medicaid. This was the beginning of Socialized medical care / payment.

Now there's likely no way to turn the clock back on this crap and we'll all pay for it down the road as it becomes government run healthcare that is as crappy as the government can get away with.

Let's say that Medicare for ALL or a National Health Service is mediocre. The increased taxes PLUS the cost of private supplemental insurance will still be infinitely less expensive than private insurance for the whole coverage.

I have Medicare plus private supplemental and thus I know this as fact. My healthcare coverage is excellent. And as a senior with the usual senior ailments, I use quite a bit of it.

No, it won't and the quality of service and services available will be far worse. Think of the result as basically the VA medical system today. For veterans it's the medical care of last resort, not their first choice.

So? I could use the VA but don't. Every veteran I know hates going to the VA as they see it as crappy care that takes forever. In a universal system, it's unlikely that supplemental plans will survive, and if they do they will be pricey. Also, the second the government starts telling providers what they can charge is the second the quality of care and services goes down.

The quality of medical care itself will be determined by the ones practicing it, not the government. And that will depend on the moral character of the nation which, as we have seen, is in flux with the election of trump, and the ignoring of moral vales by those calling themselves "evangelicals".

As to the nature of the medical care, that will adjust to the beliefs of the people. Many countries have a system you personally disagree with, yet the quality, and the quantity, surpasses that of the US.
 
Looks like they should be calling MI for Biden soon. He has a 60,000 vote lead with less than 1% of the vote remaining and that’s coming from Detroit. Trump will need to get more than 70% of the remaining votes to be counted. Not likely. Possible but not likely.

Wow - and here Trump was saying there was "no way" Biden could come back in MI, or WI.

AZ, NV, PA, GA - if I'm not mistaken, Biden just needs 2, and he wins.
