Let's be truthful about this Supreme Court appointment.

What you overlook is we haven't had a president that could work with both sides of the aisle since Reagan and Clinton. Obama, and Trump actually widened the gulf between parties. What we need is another real statesman in office, someone who will work for the betterment of the nation and not political ideologies.
Obama didn’t widen it McConnell did. McConnell refused to work with Obama.
Agreed the gap has been widening since Reagan. Disagreed McConnell was the only problem during the Obama administration since Pelosi was a major part of that problem as seen in the Healthcare debate of 2009. Extremists never compromise.

Sorry, don’t agree. Mitch has been a problem then and he’s a problem now. The guy is worthless.

Oh bullshit get off your partisan horse!!! Obama had both houses 2009 to 2011,and the Senate 2011 to 2013! So McConnell didn't take charge till Obama's second term.
Lol, I’m partisan because of my view but I bet you’d claim you aren’t partisan. History will show Mitch McConnell to be an obstructionist. History will be far kinder to Nancy Pelosi and Obama than to Mitch.

Oh you are 100% partisan! I said Obama and Trump are responsible for much of the political divide in this country but you immediately jumped and blamed McConnell for it. As I pointed out McConnell wasn't even in charge of the Senate till Obama's second term. That alone shows how you blame the other side for everything. I on the other hand place the blame on both sides. I am partisan to the conservative thinking but I try to be honest on who is to blame.

Which points out a problem facing Trump and probably-President Biden; regardless which party controls the Senate; the margin is narrow. Even if the Democrats take this Senate next month, the only margin they might have is Kamala Harris as president of the Senate.

That's good for us moderates since it means nothing much is done unless it's bipartisan. The bad news is that nothing much is done. The US is facing several problems, mostly financial and planning for the future. Those issues are not being resolved because of a dysfunctional Congress.

Only psychos repeatedly use oversize font. Jus' sayin'. :)

FWIW, I suspect Judge Amy did take a shower after meeting Trump, but that's SOP for many people.

He was asking about her personal views on white supremacy, in other words was she a white supremacist? That's why it was a supremely stupid question.

He didn't ask if she was a white supremacist. His exact words were "you condemn white supremacy, correct?" It's too bad that anybody has to be asked that question in our current climate. God knows it's like pulling teeth to get trump to criticize white supremacy.

She's fine but calling her America's mom is not a good description.

John Roberts had two little kids when he was sworn in and nobody called him "America's dad." Scalia had nine kids and nobody called him "America's dad", either. I don't know why righties think this is relevant.

Many were loaded questions, no good lawyer would allow themselves to fall into a bear trap. They were designed to create more heat than light, I think you know that already.

I focused on two questions only, Griswold and the peaceful transfer of power. Nobody has yet to explain why she couldn't give a straight answer to these.

About the only time I think Democrats were working on the side of Trump happily was when he kept McConnell out of the circle on COVID stimulas and relief. Even I gave that a hand.
