He's answered it, but never by denouncing those groups.

He was given a softball on that last night. I was surprised at the question - it was basically "do you object to racism and violence?" And he couldn't do it.
 
Antifa operates as a distributed network rather than as a traditional top-down hierarchy as an organization. That is, there is no national leadership, but rather a large number of local chapters that have local leadership that networks with other chapters to operate in unison on a larger scale. This was deliberately done to make infiltration by law enforcement harder while at the same time making identification of members and chapters more difficult since Antifa knows full well that they are going to be doing illegal things to further their goals.

This choice came about after radical Leftist groups like Earth First! were infiltrated by FBI informants to gather evidence against the group. Antifa actively seeks to prevent this from happening. Thus, why they operate as a decentralized network. But that doesn't mean they aren't an organization, they are, and they are a nationwide one.
