Um yeah Democrats, about the uh debt

Let's get something straight. Since the election, I have seen the Democrats usher in one spending bill after another, as fast as they can fucking write the bills! Obama has probably outspent Bush in Bush's first year already, and he is still a couple weeks away from being actually sworn in as president! I've never seen anything like it, you people are acting like we have some endless pile of money in Washington that must be spent before Jan 20th or something, maybe so you can push all that spending off on Bush too???

All I have fucking heard from Democrats since the election, is Bush this and Bush that! When the hell are you going to stop whining and bitching about Bush, and get on with leading us out of this "monumental mess" you claim we are in? You sure as hell aren't going to do that by continuing to rant about Bush while you outspend anything Bush ever dreamed of in his wildest liberal fantasies! You are just like the "pissed off wife" and you are not being rational or reasonable whatsoever, you are out of your goddamn minds! When is the reckless disregard for any common sense going to stop? Do you honestly think you can govern this way for long? Obama and the Democrats won't last 4 years, hell, they may not make it through 2009 at this rate! We'll all be lined up at the soup kitchen, waiting and hoping for a bowl of potato soup!

I kind of get what you're saying with the pissed off wife comparison. It's sort of like coming home with a new driver for golf and the wife says "We'll if he can do that, then I am free to go out and get a new couch set".

The Dems honestly sound like a party that thinks the Repubs "got theirs" (guns) with Iraq so now they are mentally released from any moral obligation for spending restraint and "get theirs" with the (much bigger) domestic spending butter issues.

Uhmm, yeah, uhmmm, Republicans, about the uh economy... YOU FUCKED IT UP! You have no right to talk about this shit.

ummm, yeah, socialist libtards, about having no right to talk? FUCK OFF!!!

we'll talk all we want when your stupid ass spending decisions are not only WRONG!!! but fuck up the economy even WORSE!!!!

You're insane damo.

The deficit is going to go pretty high, possibly to New Deal type levels. But we've done this before. The world isn't going to stop buying US debt.

just to point you in the right direction of where your new deal style deficit spending is going to take us....

What did our FDR and democrat congress do in Dec of 41?

This is hilarious. The republicans spend us into the biggest deficit hole in history, and then the conservative posters on here have the audacity to be derogatory about the democrat's budget.

Absolutely hilarious.

Technically it was worse under Truman and FDR, that said what the Republicans and Bush have done to the national debt is insane.

I'm going to call it "Pissed Off Wife Syndrome!"

It's what happens to the guy who forgets his anniversary, and also forgets to tell his wife he is spending that day at the golf course. Or maybe he goes to a strip club when she's pregnant... the point is, her "revenge" is to max out his credit cards on a whirlwind shopping spree at the local mall... sell his golf clubs on ebay... and have an affair with the Italian gigolo working at the spa.

That's what the Democrats have now.... Bush Derangement Syndrome has given way to Pissed Off Wife Syndrome. Look for us to be hosting the "Chinese Masters" in Augusta and fucking Italy by next year.

I love how you blame the Dems, whose out of control spending and poor policies got us to the point we are at these days?

Someone is deranged, but it isn't the Dems. Stevens use to brag about his bringing home the bacon abilities, and he wasn't a Dem!

You guys have been in the drivers seat for awhile, so don't blame the Dems!

Good someone else sees the irony board!

Do your kids in your vehicle have a vote on which way to turn and where to go, does your husband?
You assume the driver has complete control over the vehicle. The president doesn't even drive anyway, he just has total control over the brakes (ie: veto power).

Parties out of power still get to vote, even more they still get to propose and write legislation that is voted on, just not quite as much as the party in power.

I just don't see how we can ever get anywhere in this country when too many people are hardwired to give the prez credit for all successes and failures. The founders gave 2 main powers to the president, the ability to stop any legislation from passing (veto power) and as commander in chief.
Bush has been weak on that, you won't hear me defending him on that, but that still doesn't equate to saying it's him INSTIGATING and PUSHING the spending.

"Bush has been weak on that, you won't hear me defending him on that, but that still doesn't equate to saying it's him INSTIGATING and PUSHING the spending. "

Please; the energy & transportation bills were put together by a GOP Congress. Sarbanes Oxley, which you continue to insist only passed because of the cooperation of a few "moderate Republicans," only had 3 "nay" votes in both the House & Senate, and the White House took credit at its signing for pushing Congress to write the bill.

Give it up.

Exactly! It's the same exact pathology as the "pissed off wife" and it will continue to get worse before it gets better. It's immature, destructive, and irresponsible behavior, but that is what we have come to expect from Democrats. When they have eventually destroyed the economy beyond repair, they will turn around and blame it all on Republicans! Just listen to what they are saying in this thread, they are already warming up!

Republicans had 'technical' control of congress for 4 years of the past 60, but lacked enough solid conservative support to stop the liberal spending. And because we had a president who wouldn't stand up for conservative principles on spending, and essentially rubber-stamped anything that came across his desk, republicans get the blame from the liberals who are responsible for the out of control spending! The only thing that we have spent money on which wasn't a liberal idea, is tax cuts and the war, and in both cases, the democrats went along with it.

Of course, what is taken for granted in dixie and dano's posts is that the male has every right to go out drinking all night in a bar while his pregnant wife is home, and he can buy as many over-priced golf clubs as he wants. She has no right to be pissed off.

Revisionism at its finest.

The Democratic congress in the 80's might as well have been controlled by Republicans. There definitely was no liberal majority. The house was controlled by Republicans and Democratic conservatives, and Tip O'Neill was speaker in name only. The Republicans had control of the senate.

And in the 2000's, hell, there's simply no excuse. Republicans had command over all three branches of government.

There still is no liberal majority. Pretty much all of the Republican caucus is conservative (there are two moderate Republican senators left and a handful of moderate representatives, and no liberals left), while the Democratic caucus is split evenly between liberals and moderates, with more conservatives than the Republicans have moderaters. And the Republicans still own the courts.

Face it, conservatives have had complete and total control over America for the last 30 years, and have taken it on right on course to the steep nosedive to the ground we're experiencing right now.

Stop trying to twist this into something personal. These are EXAMPLES being given, and they don't have anything to do with personal relationships. No one has said that men have a right to go out drinking all night or buy golf clubs, or that their wife shouldn't be upset about it. That is what you take from the comments because you are a bigoted man-hating bitch who judges people on face value.
