Postal Service backlog sparks worry that ballot delivery could be delayed in November

early voting has stopped the long lines here in Florida -use social distancing, and there is no problem..
except Dems cant cheat by finding bags and bags of votes after the election cut off date

Thanks for the conspiracy theory, anatta.

True but is there any doubt Trump would flip-flop on the subject if most of his base are sick in bed? Another month should tell the tale.

He said absentee voting is ok. I guess the difference is that absentee voting is not necessarily by mail. A lot of his supporters are over 65 and many of them already use mail-in ballots.

In my area almost all the early voting in the runoff primary was done by mail. Democrats were encouraged because the turnout was the highest ever for a runoff election (5.8%).

The US Post Office is established by the Constitution. Are you a commie?

Try to keep up.

The term “Starving the Beast” refers to a conservative tactic to hamstring government agencies, usually by underfunding them, to the point where they are unable to function properly. When they fail to do so, it’s used as additional rationale to defund them further or to eliminate them altogether.

The RW Norquist put it this way: “I'm not in favor of abolishing the government. I just want to shrink it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub."

Trump has every intention of fucking up the USPS because of the danger to him of mail in votes. That’s what in lackey in charge of the post office is doing.

How do you absentee ballot except through the mail? I've only used the mail.

No doubt Trump has such a plan but even Republicans know that would be a huge mistake. It's like Obamacare: they bitch and moan about it but don't do anything about it because they don't have a replacement.

Speaking of which; wasn't it about two weeks ago that Trump said he'd present a full Republican healthcare program better than Obamacare? Of course he's been promising that for a few years now. Still nothing about it.

If you are going to be out of town on election day you can vote in person.

"Georgia law provides three weeks of in-person early voting in regularly scheduled primaries and elections. Click here for early voting locations and times in your county."

I don't know if other states work the same way. In my state absentee voting is my mail or early voting starts three weeks before the election.

Norquist was obviously a big failure. He didn't even slow it down. He has done nothing of importance in many years.

In Texas and Florida it was voting early in person is called "Early Voting". Absentee ballots were mailed in from home.

I live in Texas and it has changed:

Only specific reasons entitle a registered voter to vote early by mail (no longer called absentee voting). You may request a ballot by mail if you:

will be away from your county on Election Day and during the hours that early voting is conducted;
are sick or disabled;
are 65 years of age or older on Election Day; or
are confined in jail.

trump has vowed to close the post office....if this happens it would have to happen QUICK which isn't likely
if the post office closed it would increase the cost of mailing greatly...UPS and FEDERAL EXPRESS would
have it all and prepare for rates to go UP big time...how are they going to get mail to your house everyday?
