CA isn’t helping my mask skepticism

Stop it, no, nothing short of a vaccine is going to stop it, but containment is possible, and it doesn’t have to be with total lockdowns, gradual and designed reopening is the key, NY is the perfect example, from epicenter in March to minimal numbers today, largely by ignoring Trump

We've had a mask mandate while in public for months now. There were common sense parameters, such as being outside and 6 feet away from someone else. Indoors, we have mandatory masks coupled with proper social distancing. Our stores have marks on the floors at registers, and traffic flow guidelines.

I wear them ONLY because my sister has ordered probably 15 or so masks for me. I've never ASKED her to do this. She's a bit paranoid about the whole mask clusterfuck. I DO like the masks she has ordered for me. I have NO boring single color masks in my collection. I DO have a couple Rolling Stones mouth with the tongue insignia, another one with a recent photo of the Stones on it, AND one with a pic of Keith from the 1970's, with shades on and a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, which reads, "Keith Richards For President". And a nice patriotic one with a pic of Jimi Hendrix and a couple American flags, as well as a David Bowie one with his pic cleverly done in a rainbow of colors. Not to mention one with Beavis and Butthead on it!

You seem like a prime example of a fundamentalist believer in the Church of the Mask...

As you just said here, their holy symbols and ceremonial garb (masks, gloves, eye protection, covid barriers, etc.) are not defeating the Devil (covid), but as you also said here, they ultimately believe that they can't defeat the Devil (covid) by their own power. Rather, the wearing/wielding of such garb/symbols is a continuous effort to "keep the Devil (covid) at bay" until the anxiously awaited arrival of their Savior (vaccine), who will defeat the Devil (covid) once and for all...

Also, NYC is a prime example of what NOT to do, unless the goal is to kill seniors in senior care facilities... Take a look at all-cause mortality rates in the USA over the last several years. You will notice that this year is right in line with prior years (this was actually a rather mild flu season comparatively), especially in areas which didn't purposely bring infected people into senior care facilities for the money (as NYC did).

Those places that enacted such policies are the primary places that saw a "covid spike", which acted very unnaturally from other viruses of the past [ex, it had a VERY sharp 4 week spike and fall in deaths instead of a more spread out 12 week spike and fall in deaths that is typical of viruses... It also (supposedly) had a spike in infections VERY VERY late into the season and even into the Summer, as opposed to viruses of the past which see a huge decrease in infections in late season/Summer months]...

This is all a hoax and you are falling for it.

Early on people made mistakes and most of these people learned from them. Of course we must exclude Sir Donald who continues to screw things up each and every day. Of course you wont fault him for close to 80,000 new cases, 1000 new deaths in a single day.

Nope, you are right I will blame China, where the virus bought, and paid for by Obama, and gate,s was developed, released, and then then lied about or not reported at all till it was too late!

And they were ALL patriots. They were willing to subject their constituents to the virus, solely to prove that Fauci has been right all along.

It's like the 'herd immunity' they were talking about. The only way to prove one way or the other if Fauci was correct, was to ignore him.

Many voters are parents. Do you think they want to risk their childrens' safety? Of course not. They will blame this administration for not having a coherent plan in place to have this situation under control already.

But...we're going to find out in a few months, aren't we?

Just starting to read some info/studies on Legionnaires’. Symptoms are similar to Covid-19 only it is bacterial.
Some thought they had Covid, were retested for other possibilities and Legionnaires’ was discovered because
being trapped in a mask. Shame they probably listed as "confirmed" Covid, though in the stats.
People wearing surgical type masks need to discard them after 2 hours of use. Any amount of moisture in there either
from breathing, clearing your throat, coughing, sneezing, touching with a moist hand can possibly leave bacteria behind
which of course would be inhaled.

At this point I'm thinking that all those people going boating/beaches should definitely ditch the masks when they're on/by the water!
