“If Walmart is open, schools should be too, DeSantis says”

Hey, it was your man Trump who made opening schools political, few in America are against it, however what most want is a safe way of doing it, unlike Trump who treats it like it is just opening Walmart

You wanted him to do something. Well, he did. Open up.
YOU guys politically wanted them closed. Tough.

It's all political here by the left. It's not election season in Europe; they're open..................

No Mam, Europe is open again because they had a successful mitigation and was able to bring their virus numbers down to a manageable problem.

There are many elections going on in Europe today!

Not sure where you are getting your information, but you may want to change channels! LOL!

How are cases reported?

We have three levels of case definition: suspected, probable and confirmed cases. What is measured and reported by governments and international organizations?

International organizations – namely the WHO and European CDC – report case figures submitted by national governments. Wherever possible they aim to report confirmed cases, for two key reasons:

1. They have a higher degree of certainty because they have laboratory confirmation;

2. They held to provide standardised comparisons between countries.

However, international bodies can only provide figures as submitted by national governments and reporting institutions. Countries can define slightly different criteria for how cases are defined and reported.4 Some countries have, over the course of the outbreak, changed their reporting methodologies to also include probable cases.

One example of this is the United States. Until 14th April the US CDC provided daily reports on the number of confirmed cases. However, as of 14th April, it now provides a single figure of cases: the sum of confirmed and probable.

Suspected case figures are usually not reported. The European CDC notes that suspected cases should not be reported at the European level (although countries may record this information for national records) but are used to understand who should be tested for the disease.

Even your heroes at the NYT provide the disclaimer now....................

In data for the United States, The Times is now including cases and deaths that have been identified by public health officials as probable coronavirus patients. Some states and counties only report figures in which a coronavirus infection was confirmed through testing. Because confirmed cases are widely considered to be an undercount of the true toll, some state and local governments have started identifying probable cases and deaths using criteria that were developed by states and the federal government.

Confirmed cases and deaths are counts of individuals whose coronavirus infections were confirmed by a laboratory test. Probable cases and deaths count individuals who did not have a confirmed test but were evaluated using criteria developed by national and local governments. Some governments are reporting only confirmed cases, while others are reporting both confirmed and probable numbers. And there is also another set of governments that are reporting the two types of numbers combined without providing a way to separate the confirmed from the probable. The Times is now using the total of confirmed and probable counts when they are available individually or combined. Otherwise only the confirmed count will be shown.

So, if you don't like the ECDC who have stated the guidelines or
the left-wing NYT for confirming that those data methodology guidelines are correct......just what data are do you follow? Twitter & FB????

There are European and Scandinavian countries that never shut down their schools during the crisis. Want to try again?

Largely because in most of those nations they have a handle on the virus, they began with a national strategdy led by the Federal Gov't and have learned to contain it, they knew what they were doing, had leadership, quite the opposite here, we are still debating if we should wear masks in crowds, as I said previously, there is a reason they have barred Americans from flying in to their countries

They have used REAL NUMBERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Daaaaaaaaaaang...how many times must you need to be told this? :palm:

I am not sure what you mean by real numbers!

In mathematics, a real number is a value of a continuous quantity that can represent a distance along a line. The adjective real in this context was introduced in the 17th century by René Descartes, who distinguished between real and imaginary roots of polynomials. The real numbers include all the rational numbers, such as the integer −5 and the fraction 4/3, and all the irrational numbers, such as √2 (1.41421356..., the square root of 2, an irrational algebraic number). Included within the irrationals are the transcendental numbers, such as π (3.14159265...). In addition to measuring distance, real numbers can be used to measure quantities such as time, mass, energy, velocity, and many more.

This takes me back to me old Algebra class!

Correct, and now Florida, Arizona and Texas to name a few are paying for it while NY, Mass and a few others aren't, do something, but something with the American people in mind not your own political ambitions

Ah....no. They just understand the science behind this and schools. The same science that the left in this country loves to say they know. And have no clue.

Where did you copy and paste that from google man? Do you even know what it means?

ECDC has provided accurate numbers separated between confirmed and probable.
In the U.S. the CDC has COMBINED them BOTH to equal confirmed!!!!!!!!!
IT'S A BIG LIE! GET WOKE ALREADY!!!

You got to find it amusing, sad, but amusing, there are a lot of dead Americans no matter how you frame the numbers, and more Americans are getting sick with a deadly virus daily cause it continues to be spread socially, and we got those so desperate to defend Trump that they downplay all of that reality questioning how things are reported, counted, added, etc.

Grow up. People recover. Every country had to go through this. The U.S. libs are the only ones who don't grasp this.

https://www.politico.com/states/flo...n-schools-should-be-too-desantis-says-1299060

Florida, Seth Myers uses to have a skit, “is it fiction of Florida,” DeSantis fits in perfectly

God you're one stupid faggot, there is zero reason to keep the schools closed they shouldn't have been closed in the first place, the coronavirus has no effect on healthy children the only reason why Democrats want them closed
is because it will keep parents from going back to work thus helping the economy and Trump.

With NY leading the way.

Of course it did in the offset, ain't a lot of people flying into Salina, Kansas from overseas, nor is Luflin, Texas the most heavily populated metropolitan area in the US, however, what NY did, by specifically ignoring Trump, and with good leadership, was take itself from the epicenter to one of the few States today not suffering from rising numbers

And by the way, most of NY is entering a stage where the very things Trump States are closing are allowed, and plans are being worked out for opening schools in the Fall
