“If Walmart is open, schools should be too, DeSantis says”

If schools are closed and u are that scared

U should not take your kid ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never leave the house

if retailers are allowed to operate, schools should be, too.

The risk of children getting sick is “extremely, extremely low,” DeSantis said, and if fast food eateries and hardware stores could operate as “essential” businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, then schools should reopen as well.

“We spent months saying that there were certain things that were essential,” DeSantis told reporters in Jacksonville. “That included fast food restaurants. It included Walmart. It included Home Depot.”

“But if all that is essential, then educating our kids is absolutely essential,” he said. “They have been put to the back of the line in some respects.”

Hello archives,

Florida, Seth Myers uses to have a skit, “is it fiction of Florida,” DeSantis fits in perfectly

Oh, well, I guess he's got a point there. Walmart normally packs 38 people in a 40' x40' enclosed space with an aged ventilation system for 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, so why SHOULDN'T schools open up?

Later on, DeSantis will explain how one can stand on nothing at all by first lifting one leg up off the ground and then doing the same thing with the other.

Aged ventilation system? Obviously you have not seen how much money has been spent on schools the last 15 years or so. Guess you do not pay property taxes that pay for that. Even though the schools are modern day Architectual wonders, that did not improve the quality of the union led public education. Kids are still coming out dumb as shit.

My kids have finished school, got the checks to prove it, but I don't think many parents are going to be in any hurry to send their kids to schools because Walmart being open supposedly shows that it is safe, especially when the opinion is coming from a guy who is downplaying the virus while his State keeps setting new daily records

Ah, it was Desantis who opened fast food restaurants, Walmart, Home Depot, along with bars, restaurants, beaches, and gyms, and we have all seen the consequences of that move, so now you are buying his opinion that he knows what is safe, especially for kids?

Worried about the air quality in schools, or even your home? Install one of these in the ductwork. It's variously called a electro-static precipitator or electronic air cleaner. At a school it'd take somewhere between 10 and 20 to do the entire building properly.

That model sells for about $500 and it takes everything down to including viruses out of the air. Easy to clean (remove the grids and use soap and water, dry, reinstall) and very efficient. So, you could do a school for about $30,000 to $40,000 max and most of the viral threat goes away.

Funny how the left all of the sudden do not want to be like Europe. Europe and Scandinavia understand the science that the left in this country love to say they do. And do not.

Numbers in Europe for the most part have stabilized, not so in America, hadn't you noticed we lead the world in cases and have been barred from traveling to Europe cause of our inappropriate response to the virus

This version is "plug and play" mounts on the ceiling. One per classroom and you're problem of social distancing is solved.

Oh, just for clarity. I've installed dozens of those in various models mostly in commercial settings. Did one manufacturing plant where I put like 15 in. They went from an annual cold and flu season among the employees, along with other air quality related problems to nada. Those things work great. Bars used to use them to get rid of cigarette smoke.

Know little about air conditioning, but in New York a HEPA filter, whatever that is, is required for any building of size to reopen under the COVID guidelines

There are European and Scandinavian countries that never shut down their schools during the crisis. Want to try again?

HEPA is less efficient, blocks air flow (creates a restriction), and has to be changed regularly. Electronic air cleaners create little air flow restriction, can be used with or separately from a central ventilation system, and are cleaned with soap and water never requiring replacement filters.

This is a typical HEPA HVAC filter. You can buy one at the hardware store. They're good for about 60 to 90 days max then you dispose of it and replace it.

HEPA doesn't remove viruses and other very small particulates like that. Electronic air cleaners do.

I hope folks are just not installing those expecting them to work. They have a high static pressure drop clean, let alone dirty. If a system was not designed for it originally when you just add them to a system the performance drops considerably. You have to increase the HP of an AHU. As with all panic situations, I can almost guarantee no one is taking that into account, just installing them. It will make things worse, not better.
