As proved at Kent State 1970....50 years ago this month. Trump has advocated violence against Americans several times the past few years. He's anxious to literally pull the trigger on doing so. It will be interesting to see how America votes after the government shooting a dozen or more American citizens.

It is completely legal for trump to talk about declaring martial law, and it is also legal for him to waste money on having troops on alert for declaring martial law. He just is very limited in being able to actually declare martial law.

I am hoping this ends like most of his threats to attack the constitution, in nothing but a waste of time and money.

Well sort of... trump is setting the stage for a future president having a coup. trump is normalizing the language of a coup.

It has previously been thought that the only exception is when the US Government is on the verge of collapse from invasion, or massive rebellion. The US Government was nowhere near collapse in Chicago.

We already have proper police, largely. In every force, there are few bad apples. Prosecute them for the crimes they commit. That is being done. Being a police officer is no immunity in the United States. The Bundy Brothers have overwhelmed local police at least three times. Should we send the army after them?

If the National Guard cannot handle the rioting, then maybe we could think about the regular army... But we are far from there. This is not the worst rioting we have ever seen.

You've been hanging out on Fox too long, you've absorbed their "shoot the messenger" motif. Statistically it would make sense that more white ppl are shot by cops since obviously whites are a majority, for now. But as usual you're absolutely wrong about the media "never showing when Whites are shot by cops." Not sure if it's the same now, but when we lived in STL shootings were a nightly feature on the news. They had lots of them. Most were citizens capping each other, but some were police-involved as well. And yep, they showed every incidence no matter what the color of the person shot.

Another Michael Brown killed by cops for no good reason. This happened near where we used to live. He was white, as were his buddies.
