Disagreed. The fact the Republican Party has hollowed itself out and become the Party of Trump has nothing to do with the way the Constitution is structured. The Constitution is fine, the way the Executive and Legislative branches are using it is not. For the most part, Congress has been derelict in their duties for the majority of this century. They're more worried about reelection and campaign donations than doing their sworn duty.

All of that just shows that muh constitution does nothing to secure our rights. It's a piece of paper. If politicians want to ignore it, they will, and they have.

Flattening the curve accepts the same number of cases, just not all at once. The area under the curve stays the same, but it is lower, and longer. So rather than having 200 million cases in three months, we have 200 million cases in 36 months... But that requires us to keep in lockdown for 3 years. Can we survive that?

So plan two, we could get all the testing capacity in place, and then all the contact tracing in place, and then slowly switch lockdown for hardcore contact tracing... But we have barely started on either.

And even beyond that, we flattened the curve in NYC, but what happens when if we have a sudden rise in say Florida? We could end up with a new much higher plateau.

Completely untrue. Any flag or uniform is protected free expression. I challenge you to show us any prosecution of anybody waving a flag or wearing a uniform.

There is no law prohibiting "expressions of treason." Treason is giving aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war. There is no enemy to comfort or war.

If you remember the Skokie, Ill case in the 1970s the Nazi party wanted to march through the town wearing Nazi uniforms and carrying swastikas. The town of 70,000 had 40,000 Jews and supposedly the largest number of Holocaust survivors outside Israel. The town denied the permit because of threatened violence against the marchers by town residents. The ACLU took up their case and the court injunction against the march was thrown out. The Nazis ended up marching in Chicago, instead. A group of 20 Nazis an 2,000 counter protestors.

But the point is that they had the right to march with uniforms and swastikas.

Yes, walking into a government building with guns out in the open, demanding policy change or you will use the guns, is proving that you are a real threat. They "protesters" are eager to prove they are a real threat.

And that defense falls right apart when you walk into a government building with military style weapons.

Not if that state/locality makes it legal to carry weapons into a government building. I'm sure it depends on their behavior and the specifics of the law. If they take no illegal action or threats it might not be illegal. Were any of these people charged with crimes?
