The election is already over....

4 is obviously wrong, and of course the media is rooting for Trump at this point because they're afraid of Bernie, but most of this is right. Either the DNC does the right thing and nominates Bernie, or Trump gets reelected.

Yeah, it will be up to the winner to unify the party after that. Which is possible, Obama was able to do that and get a high turnout.

But Obama was the first black nominee so he had that going for him.

Also, the split in the Democrat Party is *ideological*. It would be different if some Democrat voters simply preferred another candidate who was a slightly different flavor of Democrat.

I think they’re in trouble.

The ‘weak’ leader has the mullahs on their heels.

Leaking intelligence briefings is a threat to national security. Trump put a loyalist in because he apparently can’t trust anyone else. Trump was stabbed in the back by Comey; his ‘people’ in the NSC leaked to try and get him impeached. And that’s not even the half of it

Don't you guys get tired of this kind of spin?

Those agencies are supposed to be independent. Every President has had to deal with agencies not falling in line with every single thing they want to do and every opinion they hold.

I'm sorry you can't see it with Trump. He is a deeply insecure, weak man. We've never had someone with this level of insecurity in the highest office - not even close. It has made us vulnerable and gutted vital institutions, likely for a long time.

nope much different than 2016 , the demographics since 2018 white christ stains makeup on 41 percent of the population while his fundamentalist at 21 percent

since 2016 rural flyover country has contracted

https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2017-06-20/rural-america-is-aging-and-shrinking

after 3 years of trump minorities are fired up, unlike 2016

The media is rooting for Trump? What media is this?

I do agree with you on #4, at least as far as the black vote goes. One of the two reasons I didn't vote for Trump was his racial rhetoric. Not that Republicans have ever done all that well with minority voters but they've done well enough that they could win elections. My fear was/is Trump is creating a whole generation of people who will be anti-Republican because of him. I saw it happen with Prop 187 and Republicans in California.

Now don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Republicans do well with black/minority voters in '20 and I hope like hell we do.

For some people it's ideological, for others it's not as important. The reason Biden was the front-runner for so long is because he was the most recognizable. People who only half-followed politics just picked him because he's Obama's guy. These people will be never easy to win over.

CNN and MSNBC are trying their best to bury Bernie. They're not openly cheering for Trump, since that would alienate their centrist audience, but they're concentrating on eliminating the only Democrat who could beat Trump.

Politicians are essentially business people. What Trump showed is that using racism works for Republicans. So while I'm sure there are lots of Republicans who were disgusted, they're probably not going to shy away from something that works.

So of course you wouldn't know.
Centrist media is desperately trying to bury Bernie now. They're willing to take Trump because even if he's not their first choice, he's still a shill for the 1%

So say the liberals; because they recognize that their candidates are losing their collective asses.

Independent of who lol?

The intelligence apparatus isn’t a separate branch of government. In fact, they’re under criminal investigation for becoming ‘a little too independent’ under Obama. Someone needs to keep on them because *nobody* gets to be unaccountable when they wield the controls of the intelligence apparatus.

Any president has the authority to hire/fire anyone in the intelligence community. Including Trump.

The *ideology* of socialism is going to run a lot of moderate Democrats off.

Of course he does. Should he?

Do you think our intel is better with a completely inexperienced loyalist at the helm?

Do you think our diplomacy is better w/ a State Dept. that has been gutted from day 1 of Trump's Presidency?

How about the CDC? Think they're ready for this virus that is taking off fast?

This is the problem w/ cult of personality politics. Trump is paternal to his supporters. They feel like "he's got this," and don't consider any negative outcomes.

I feel like we've never been more vulnerable, or more unsafe as a nation. I hope I'm wrong, but it's hard to ignore the reality that exists outside of Trump's spell.

I’d say Trump has ‘had quite a bit of it’ so far lol.

He’s not perfect but nobody expected that. I don’t know what your experience is with department heads is but I haven’t run across a single one that would last five minutes at my job. Department heads are *managers* and not technicians. I see no reason to prejudge Trump’s replacement just because he’s never ran a wire tap or whatever.

We’ve seen the sort of shenanigans that have gone on very recently—given the FISA report. I’ll give the guy a chance to clean it up before I say yay or nay about him.

Huh? It's an incredibly important position. You don't think experience or qualifications matter?

Yikes. Trump's main criteria is loyalty & agreement (because he's so insecure). Look at history. The world's best leaders sought disagreement and liked to be challenged - they didn't surround themselves w/ yes men.

Admittedly I don't watch cable news but I do find it hard to believe CNN and MSNBC are trying to bury Bernie.
