Democrats had plenty of opportunities to call witnesses. If their case, as they claim, is so overwhelming based on the evidence, present it and let a vote take place. It's not the Senate's responsibility to pick up the slack of Democrats that failed to do their job.

17 witnesses that Democrats claim provided them with overwhelming evidence of guilt. If that is true, arguing more witnesses need to be called now is admitting they didn't do their job and are lying about the proof they claim to have.

The polls don’t look good for a lot of Republicans, Collins. McSilly, Gardener. Mitch McConnell polls at 29.8% favorability nationwide, and 33% in Kentucky, so what’s your point?
