On CNN Tuesday, Rep. John Yarmuth (D-KY) broke down the key political pressures pulling Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) in both directions on how to conduct the Senate impeachment trial.

“The president is saying the House process was unfair, and now implying why should Democrats expect a fair process in the Senate. what do you say to that?” asked anchor Kate Bolduan.

“Well, first of all, he’s totally lying about the process,” said Yarmuth. “He was invited to have lawyers present and call witnesses, he chose not to. He did not participate in the House. To say it was not fair because he decided not to make it fair is ridiculous. I think the argument is the same with whatever happens in the Senate.”

“I think Mitch McConnell’s in a real bind here, regardless of what President Trump says,” continued Yarmuth. “I think Mitch is going to face severe criticism, and as the polling has shown, not just from Democrats, if he makes short shrift of this whole proceeding. And yet if he calls witnesses, then the president’s case is going to be severely damaged. I think he really makes the calculation right now that at least he’s safer to have, basically, a non-trial trial, than to call witnesses who would undermine the president’s arguments.

Not going to happen, but it's good to see voters know that the RNC has abandoned all American values.

Nervous Nancy is afraid to send the Articles to the Senate.

No charges, no trial, no impeachment.

Polls lol.

Democrats didn’t want to wait for the courts to settle the subpoena issue in order to get the witnesses they wanted/*need* so that’s on them.

Why is this McConnell’s problem again?

Courts are the republicans delaying issue. If they can only stretch this out as long as possible, no one will ever learn the truth.

That is so stupid. Terrified Trump is throwing every roadblock he can to prevent the people from finding out what he has done in the dark. He ordered every person he had to ignore subpoenas to testify and prevented them from providing the paperwork that was requested. That is what the guilty do. If he had nothing to hide, he would not hide everything, everything. Every single scrap is blocked. When Sondland was testifying he said he was blocked from getting his own documentation by Trump. That is not what an innocent person would do. It is called obstruction of justice.
Nixon gave up documentation. Clinton testified. Trump hides. Trump does what the guilty does, not what a person with innocence protecting him would do.

Indeed...polls...lol.

Less than half of all Americans want Trump ousted post-impeachment: Reuters/Ipsos poll

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Less than half of all Americans say President Donald Trump should be removed from office following his impeachment by the U.S. House of Representatives, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll released on Thursday, presenting a challenge for Democrats who will seek his ouster in a U.S. Senate trial.

Nervous Nancy is afraid to send the Articles to the Senate.

No charges, no trial, no impeachment.

70% of Americans want a full Senate trial with witnesses. Comprehende?

Since Nervous Nancy is afraid to send the Articles to the Senate, she is holding up a trial.

No charges, no trial, no impeachment.

What is she afraid of?

Perhaps a big old acquittal?

The Dems have already called their witnesses in the House the President should be able to call his witnesses in the Senate.

Because you say so? The House was stopped from getting Trump's people to testify and from getting paperwork. Trump ordered all to ignore subpoenas and hide documentation. Think that will be reversed in the Senate? Trump will secrete every scrap of information again. That is what the guilty do. The Senate is full of Trump enablers.

But they already admitted it won't be a fair trial. I'm over it, I know Trump won't be removed. However, I now know that the RNC has rejected American values.
No, Pebble by Pebble. No one has admitted any such thing.

After the totally biased, totally partisan, totally unfair House circus, the Republicans will have the opportunity to show the country what a fair process looks like.

That is, if Nervous Nancy isn’t too afraid to send the Articles and have a fair and impartial trial.

The Dems have been calling for impeachment since President Trump took office...and before.

Utter propaganda.

When there’s an issue between the executive and the legislative branch [like with subpoenas] there’s this wonderful invention called ‘the judicial branch’.

They have judges and stuff. It’s really neat. I know of some weasels that may be meeting them pretty soon.
