OK Boomer

Tax the fuck out of the rich and corporations and they will simply go to, and invest in, other countries.

You mean like they did from 1946-1965? Oh wait...they didn't do that.

But we cut taxes in 2018 and plenty of companies left like Carrier, BMW, and Harley Davidson.

Explain "OK Boomer"?

I wish they could listen to the "greatest generation" who were the adults at the time while we were teens of 20 somethings spew about the President was sacred

how anytime you questioned their crap you were pummeled with WE SAVED THE WORLD YOU UNGRATEFUL CHILD spew

it was like a cult

they revered the corporations because during the war the people who ran them DID place country over profit because the assholes we were fighting would have TAKEN OVER THEIR BUSINESS if we lost

Industry and its profits had everything to lose in that war

so they for a time suspended profits and helped kill the evil ones

then the "greatest generation" pretended that when those old men died that their wealthy prodigy were going to be country over profit NO MATTER HOW MUCH PROOF YOU HEAVED AT THEM

they were not

they were spoiled wealthy fucks so lied and cheated anyway they could because its theior right because ……….capitalism!

we changed things

then the rich kids did everything they could to stop it

Like convincing everyone who would listen to us that it was us POOR kids who became hippies and fought the man by NOT just being mindless consumers and opting out of the corporate shill march were jusr spoiled idiots who never respected what the "greatest generation" did to save them

the funny thing is most of them who actually fought the war didnt do that

they NEVER wanted to Speak of the war

they had PTSD and no one knew what the fuck that was

but oh man that guy whos brother died in the war and HE NEVER went railed about how much he sacrificed and was a "Greatest Generation" member

The world does not end at the US borders as liberal morons tell you. :palm:

You cut taxes in 2018, saying it would bring jobs back.

Instead, more companies left like BMW, Harley Davidson, and Carrier.

Now, manufacturing is in a recession.

I am a first wave 1946 Boomer, which means I share a birth year with such idiots as Dubya Bush, Bubba Clinton, and Donald Pigfucker Truimp.

Their inclusion makes it difficult to defend my generation, but some of us actually did ok. I put two kids through expensive private universities twenty-plus years ago, and I just put my seventy-three year old ass into a cool Corvette.

We did great cultural work in the 1960s, then half of us reverted to brain-dead wingnut status. Fortunately, I wasn't one of them.

Every generation has its hits and misses is all that I'm saying.

spot on

they repeat these lies over and over and the results never materialized

they in fact created the 1950 and 60s that these assholes ALWAYS want to go back to

the economy and nation the FDR measures created

You're just being stupid and slinging shit ... as usual. :palm:

In 1944, unemployment was 1.2%, ... by 1949, it was 6.6% ... and 6.6 in 1960.

I did OK and I put my 57 year old ass in a remarkably well built Shelby A/C Cobra with period correct NASCAR 427 and Toploader trans. Gotta love fast cars :awesome:

Not at all. We wouldn't have nice things like PBS programming, endowments to universities, research, and the arts if they were.

That being said, the uber wealthy have flourished in the U.S. because of our system. Supporting that system through taxation is equitable and just.

Yes, but I'd rather see the government tighten its belt, reduce spending, reduce the waste, fraud and corruption and use the savings to fund their projects. One thing the government does best is waste money. I hope we can all agree on that. The more they tax, the more they'll waste. Increasing taxes on ANYBODY is not the answer. The real answer is the government living within its means and not spending more than it brings in. I bet you could cut the federal government in half and it would still function just as well. Americans are taxed too much. Sales tax, income tax, payroll tax, state tax, local tax, fees, licenses, real estate tax. This is why I cringe when politicians start talking about more taxes. Yeah, even billionaires. Many billionaires are extremely philanthropic.
Check this out:

"The Giving Pledge is a commitment by the world's wealthiest individuals and families to dedicate the majority of their wealth to philanthropy."
The Illuminati supports the positive efforts of this planet’s elite and the initiative of the Giving Pledge. Originally conceived by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett, the Giving Pledge encourages those with much to consider the needs of those with less.
By taking the Giving Pledge, wealthy members of the human species promise to donate the majority of their monetary worth to charitable causes that support positive changes in the lives of those who need it.
The Giving Pledge is intended for billionaires or those who would be billionaires if not for their donations to charity. The Illuminati is not directly affiliated with this charity and cannot accept donations of any kind.

Cool.

The richest age demographic is 60 years old. This should be no surprise to anyone, ... but it is. :palm:

Well, unemployment went up because all the soldiers came back from WWII and Korea.

And also, saying 1.2% unemployment in 1944 proves the New Deal and FDR's policies worked.

So now you're changing your argument! MOVE THOSE GOALPOSTS!

First you said that higher taxes would make companies leave, except that they didn't leave when there were higher taxes from 1946-1965, and that companies left after you cut their taxes last year.

So your stupid argument migrated to the unemployment rate...because that proves that companies leave when taxes are high? How does it do that?

sending jobs overseas so your 401ks perform well isn't the answer either, boomer-righty.

You say you got a real solution
Well, you know
We'd all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well, you know
We're doing what we can

But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell is brother you have to wait

You say you'll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it's the institution
Well, you know
You better free you mind instead

But if you go carrying pictures of chairman Mao
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow

Dear Dipshit, we blew up all the factories and infrastructure in Europe, etc.. We had a virtual monopoly on manufacturing during those post war years.

And 1960 was 15 years after the war. :palm:

SO FUCKING WHAT?

Your claim was that higher taxes would drive businesses away, yet the only businesses that were driven away left after you cut their taxes.

So you claim that raising taxes drives businesses away, but support a tax cut that literally resulted in businesses leaving the US.

Huh? I didn't send any jobs overseas. Methinks you're having another case of Meth withdrawal. See a doctor...soon.
