Pelosi will have to pick a VP

Since President Trump won’t be convicted in the Republican Senate (the sexual predator, old Bil, was not convicted in the Democrat Senate even though he comitted perjury) it’s a moot issue.

Re-election for President Trump snd Pence and Ivanka in 2024.

I agree he won't be convicted in the Senate. I doubt the House ever gets to a vote. If they vote to impeach without an impeachable offense, they risk getting annihilated in 2020.

That said, just going over the technicalities should it happen.

Trump is removed and Pence takes his place and names a new VP. Pence is removed and the VP moves to president and names a new VP. They never get to Pelosi.

It is very doubtful there are enough votes to impeach and convict Trump. Pence is safe.

He is not going to pick a Democrat (the Senate would never approve). He appoints a moderate Republican from Congress that is acceptable to both sides.

True, but if they delay a VP selection and then try to impeach Pence on nonsense... that does leave an opening. Again, just technicalities. They have no impeachable offenses on either Trump or Pence, so none of it will happen.

Pence is involved...any impeachment of Trump will likely include him. Same with Barr and Pompeo. Also, any VP pick Pence makes, should he become President, must be voted by both houses of Congress.

Congress is not going to impeach Pence without a VP.

You are being overly optimistic to think Pence much less Barr and Pompeo would be impeached and convicted. Chances are less than 50-50 for Trump.

Congress would impeach and convict Pence for what offense? Being "involved in this mess" is insufficient cause to get 2/3 of the Senate to convict. There is little chance the House will even bring an impeachment inquiry against Pence.

I agree. Partisans are usually overly optimistic about the future for their party. They always think they will win the next election, implement all the promised actions, impeach all the opposition leaders, and bring about change in the system.

Why wouldn't they? They were involved. You don't forego prosecuting accomplices just because you're prosecuting the big fish.

Pence was abusing his authority in office by working the Ukranian President to pursue dirt on Biden.

Trump said that when he threw Pence under the bus, saying Pence talked with the Ukranian President twice about this. It's on camera. We all saw and heard it.
 
I think it looks like this scandal may well take Pence down, why did he cancel his trip to the inauguration? Was it to put pressure on them to come up with something on Biden?
