Obamacare FORCES everyone to buy insurance whether or not they want it. If not, you are penalized and forced to buy what they assign you.

Obamacare FORCES insurers to charge APPROVED amounts for set types of coverage.

The word 'socialism' appears to have first been coined by Pierre Leroux in France around 1797. By 1835, the word was in popular use in France, taking on the modern meaning we use today.

The 'social' in 'socialism' refers to how an economy is treated. A socialist government treats the economy like a thing to be controlled for the social benefit of the people. It can do it by just controlling production and distribution (fascism), or by outright ownership (communism).

Karl Marx wrote about the path to communism, using fascism as a stepping stone to the Perfect Utopia of communism, as he saw it. He communicated his ideas to Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Pres. Hoover (and soon to be Pres. FDR), and even to Winston Churchill. Each one of them implemented their view of Karl Marx's arguments, sometimes completely, sometimes only partially.
