You cannot end abortion with laws. It was done in America in the past and it resulted in driving it underground, making it dangerous and expensive. It resulted in self-abortion which often was akin to self-mutilation. Many girls ended up in emergency rooms from trying to end pregnancies.
Of course, girls with money just went to a country without abortion laws, got an abortion and returned home without the peril that poor people experienced.
It was an ugly time that should not be revisited.
