So, basically, the democrats role in this is they are determined to not allow Trump to score on a campaign promise—knowing full well Trump won’t sign the ‘compromise’ bill sent to his desk with approximately 1/5th of what Trump asked for [hence, the marks around ‘compromise’].

Wouldn’t it save everyone a lot of grief just to let Trump have the 5B for a wall? The extortion argument is weak [it’s actually a fall-back since no one would take democrats seriously if they griped over the 5 billion dollars] since we both know Trump can’t get away with shutting down the government every time he doesn’t get his way.

The democrat’s argument for not simply giving Trump 5B for a wall is weak. This shouldn’t be a big deal—everyone knows the money isn’t a big deal.
