White House Approves Use of Force Against Invaders at Border

You are an idiot if you believe the caravan is just women and children.
You are more of an idiot if you think the military will start shooting.
These immigrants will be processed like everyone that crosses the border illegally and send back at taxpayer expense.
The military is there to support border patrol. The military has no power to arrest anyone. If a border patrol agent is in danger the military can use force to protect that agent.

Anyone that believes President Trump's histrionics about his "invasion" to which the deployment of over 5,000 U.S. military troops is the appropriate U.S. federal response is just as mentally deficient as you describe.

Then why did Trump publicly authorize it?
I know.
Under pressure, and advice of white house counsel, Trump walked it back a little. But Trump is very spoiled. He wants his wall. And now that both Mexico and our Republican lead congress has refused to provide the funding Trump demands, Trump's trying to end-run them all and apply his authority as commander in chief to ORDER them to build his wall.

This ladies and gents, is what a presidential tantrum looks like.

I wouldn't bet on that.
Some from the previous overflow were sent to New York State.
Here, we took some of the $federal $money that accompanies them and engaged a contingent of attorneys and legal experts to handle asylum claims. Early indications are that these New York based asylum seekers are having their asylum requests granted at multiples of the national average.

That's a civics lesson commonly taught in high school.

But it doesn't explain why the president of the United States of America publicly authorized use of force in this instance.

It seems both you and I are better informed on this subject than President Trump.
