Let's just all recall we came by Texas in a land grab war we would shat ourselves over if it happened to us.
Yeah we're "exceptional" all right.
Yeah we're "exceptional" all right.
Sorry, Poli. but it's not that simple. The parents should not be tourists nor in the employ of a foreign government. Beyond that, it gets a bit hazy.
It 'honors' treason.
Slavery and secession is up for debate?
Kill yourself.
Which is protected freedom of speech.

Yeah we're "exceptional" all right.
And patriots will continue to speak louder.

your hatred has blinded you to logic. there can be no other explanation. maybe that's a northerner thing.......lack of ability to use logic
Hopefully those patriots will support such free speech no matter how offensive they find it.
You bitch about American exceptionalism while adhering to an ideology that is exceptional only for its mass murders.
Only if it is displayed privately, and not on the public dime.
This monument is on private property in public view. It is not displayed privately but neither is it on the public dime. A person is not a true patriot to only support free speech with which he agrees--he is an authoritarian.
I don't consider it public, simply because it can be publicly viewed. Those involved should be publicly shamed, however, as they are shameful people who love an American enemy.
I think ignored is better than bringing public attention to their cause. And shaming someone is kind of a judgmental, juvenile reactions. Like choosing to shame those who abuse alcohol or drugs, former convicts, kids who make bad grades in school, overweight people...........Nobody would suggest shaming is a way to help these people change. Is the purpose to feel self-righteous or help others?
Many things should be judged, and even shamed publicly. Our refusal to do so has weakened American society over the years.
Really? Defend the CSA. Make an argument for why it was a better idea than America. Defend the southern heritage, for that matter.
if he had a sign saying children should be molested then what?
not if it disparages and/or offends the general pubic, there's such a thing as 'polite society' outside your trailer park
I know, go to the movies and shout 'fire!'
chop chop
Racism runs DEEP in this country
Maybe American society has weakened because we have resorted to openly shaming, yelling, and cursing at people. Openly shaming people is not something we used to do that worked so well. It usually causes that person to become defensive and turn inward for support to those who share his views.
Do you think the shaming people did to homosexuals was productive? It was even illegal in many places.
As we have become more uncivil it has gotten worse and worse--just look at the posts on this forum to see the consequences.
