Anyway, to your point, it's true that he framed his promise in the context of throwing a test kit at her during a hypothetical debate. That debate hasn't happened, and as such if he wants to cower behind that rhetorical framing device, because he doesn't want to make a donation to charity, it's not like anyone can force him to man up.... nor can anyone force his reflexive apologists from lining up to excuse him on the grounds of that framing device. But the implication was clear. He was feigning skepticism about her having Native American ancestry -- essentially the same racist gambit he used against Obama when he feigned skepticism about Obama being born in the US. Warren called him on it with the DNA test, and now he's squirming. As funny as that has been to watch, it's been even funnier to watch his boot-lickers lining up to make excuses for him.

If you want to point to an expert in genetics, who just happens to be a member of the Cherokee nation, I'd be happy to consider what he or she has to say on the topic. If, instead, you're just referring to the politicians who speak on behalf of that political unit, why would I care what they have to say on a scientific question like this? Keep in mind, we're not discussing whether or not Warren has political status as a member of that tribe -- she has never said she does. We're discussing whether she has Native American ancestry -- which, as you know, she does.

Cherokee nations Secretary of State stated that she was wrong. They only allow those that are at least 1/16th Cherokee to claim that they are Cherokee. That is a fact. He also stated the DNA test is not appropriate given the Cherokee nation hasn't provided its own samples.
By the DNA expert you so believe in, she is somewhere between 0.9% and 1.6% Mexican/Columbian/Peruvian. Not Native American.
